Review Time
Don't bother with this company if you live in central London. I was made to wait for hours on separate days but as parking is only available a 1 minute walk from my house in Kensington & Chelsea, apparently the people that were coming to measure and quote decided that the walk was not worth their while. I have lived on this road for over 20 years and regularly have contractors come and park and do work at home. It has never been an issue before ,but clearly the people that work for Plumbs in London are not that keen to work or provide quotes. They might make great covers but alas I will never know. Wasted 4 hours of my time expecting their visit. Very unprofessional.
We are absolutely delighted with our new covers. Our suite looks like new and the process was so straightforward. Tracey was excellent form start to finish giving close attention to every detail and spending time to make sure that the fit was perfect. Thanks you so much.
6 months ago we decided to give our lounge its usual 4 year reform and as I am no longer able to make my own hand tailored curtains, I called Plumbs and was very quickly contacted by Amanda their local Sales Rep. As I have been seriously interested in interior design for many years, it took several visits by the very patient and professional Amanda, and many samples from Head Office, before I finally decided on both curtain material and Sofa Upholstery material which I felt would look good and give our lounge a complete colour reform. All this has paid off and my husband and I are completely satisfied with ABSOLUTELY everything as well as the sofa and curtains and including the cushions, arm covers, the large footstool which was covered in the curtain material, and piped in several places in yet another colour to add effect. I am still so happy every time I look at all the work which Amanda had done for me. I knew what I wanted, but Amanda's subdued comments and her excellent curtain hanging abilities all helped us end up in our happy place. As a curtain maker myself, I can find no fault in the curtains and I have frequently inspected them.Both the vast selection and the excellent quality of all the materials provided to choose from, was excellent.Without doubt, if Amanda is still our local Rep, we will use Plumbs again and we would recommend them to anyone.Whilst reading through the most recent TP comments, some of which are not from happy customers, it seems that the best end results are achieved if you have an excellent Sales Rep as we had, in Amanda.
I wrote earlier about our experience with Plumbs.The curtains were fitted incorrectly by their fitter.He had a couple of goes of fitting the pole to the wooden batten.3 months ago the pole came down at one end if the batten.Rang Plumbs but not interested as the Company under new ownership.Had new batten and pole fitted and Hillary's supplying and fitting new curtains.The point of my review is Plumbs now show a 5 year guarantee.I hope the fitter employed by Plumbs at the time who put up my curtains is not in their employment anymore.
Booked an appointment with a local agent but decided against going ahead as small 3 piece sofa and one chair came to £2,800 which I thought excessive. Emailed the agent and heard.. nothing. I feel it would be polite to acknowledge emails,even if we didn't place an order.
If I could give more than 5 ⭐ I would.I have waited 6 months before posting my review, and I am.ao glad I did.I originally had two M&S brown leather chesterfield sofas.They were a good few years old and looking a bit tired and worn out. I got the cushions recovered by a different upholsterer and they came back awful.🙈One of my friends recommended Plumbs, so I made the call.Stephen came out, and showed me all different samples of materials, and all different colours and designs, but in my head I knew what I wanted.I visited their shop and had a good look through their various sample books, but nothing quiet matches what I knew I wanted.I met up with Sophie, who is one of the granddaughters from Plumbs and she set me up a Pinterest account, and low and behold I found my dream sofas.They sent away from a different supplier for the sample of material and set my mind to rest, as I had had numerous sleepless nights, panicking it was the wrong shade or not the correct material.I even emailed Stephen one night at 5am to cancel the order.We'll roll on 6 months and I am now sat on my dream sofas.They are exactly how I had dreamt of.They are so professionally crafted, with first class materials used, even the cushion filling is top class.So if you are looking for Quality, professional staff that go above and beyond, and top class craftsmanship look no further than PLUMBS as you will not be disappointed.They look as good today as they did the day they arrived, and I know they will still look this good for Long time to come 💚.Thank you to all the staff at Plumbs for all your Help and advice and patients with me.Samantha
The furniture which had been reupholstered and which had cost in excess of £3500 in the sale was delivered on 6th March 2024. The finish was excellent although the cushion were small and did not fit the plumbs covers which already had.Sunday 11th January 2026 a spring appear to have failed at one end of the sofa.Rang plumbs and was advised that as Plumbs had gone in to Administration in October 2024 and been bought out our Five year upholstery guarantee would not be honoured. I also purchased their insurance which only covers staining.Beware of plumbs who are very expensive with no after service.
We thought going for a well known company would guarantee good service. How wrong we were. It has taken six months to finally get two pair of curtains hanging up. The process was a disaster from beginning to end, poor communications (they got our phone and email address wrong), incorrect measurements, fabric that did not match and endless delays. Would not use Plumbs again.
We had a fantastic Plumbs employee Barbara, she was very patient and took time to go through samples for curtains and blinds. Her knowledge is amazing and she arranged to fit the curtains and again took time to ensure that they were fitted to the highest standard. The quality of the curtains and blinds are 100%. They will last us a lifetime. Very impressed with Plumbs, but a special thanks to Barbara for her professionalism and patience as well as being very friendly and approachable.
