Paid £75 excess for an iphone 15 plus screen repair.

The screen is visibly cheap, laggy and freezes (not on demand unfortunately).

I took it back to the shop, they admitted it lags as it is a 3rd party screen and blamed Nationwide for not paying for the cost of an official screen.

From my perspective the £75 screen is like owning an original Samsung Galaxy, it makes the expensive phobe feel buggy, laggy and cheap.

Thanks for nothing.

tldr: they know their stuff and keep expectations realistic. Last night had a nightmare scenario.

tldr: they know their stuff and keep expectations realistic.

Last night had a nightmare scenario. My iPad Pro 3rd Gen, stopped working. I'd plug it in, it would show the battery was flat, would start to charge a little bit, then it would start to boot up, get to the home screen, then shut down. I had the expectation iPad was beyond repair.

Took it into the Shipley branch, at lunch time, it's now 4pm, and it's fixed. The guys in the store knew their stuff, we had three options that it could be, port broken, battery problem, or even an issue with the main board. From their initial look they were preparing me for it to be a mainboard fail. I left it with them, and after a couple of hours had a phone call to say it's fixed. Turned out it was bent pins on the USB-C port, which doesn't surprise me. That was also the cheapest of the fixable options.

From the moment that I walked into the store, I had that homely feeling of being amongst my people, that is those that have their technical skills and are quietly confident what they do. I had no hesitation leaving my tablet with them and had the feeling that it was in good hands.

Also whilst I was in the shop, someone came in with their phone all locked up and not responding to anything, without any charge the owner of the shop showed the child how to do a hard reboot of the phone and got it working in next to no time. I'm sharing this experience as it's the kind of thing that I would do if I could.

I will not hesitate to take any of my mobile devices, Apple, or Android if I needed them looking at.

So kind and helpful

The member of staff I dealt with at the Surrey Quays store was so kind and helpful. She answered all my questions and offered me all the solutions including the prices of each. I would definitely recommend the store, service and the particular woman I was lucky enough to meet.

My partner paid for her laptop to be repaired and they replaced the screen with the wrong screen. They then took it back and told us they needed to order the correct screen and it will be a few weeks. It had been months with no contact and the franchise in Newcastle where the laptop was has closed. The main branch have not replied to any messages and the laptop has not been returned.
