Beware of buying Policy Expert Home Emergency Plus!!Is not worth it. Please read every small prints you can, I have had 2 water leaks, in both cases, I was forced to use my local plumber (thank God for that). Absolutely a waste of time and money. You are better off using a credible or reliable local contractor.
Insurance was arranged quickly and without fuss.
Had tried to renew with the previous insurer; had a robot 3 times, got cut off twice.
Finally told I could speak to an agent, waited about 3 minutes on hold, then got cut off.
Gave up. They had more than one chance.
My grandsons car was hit while stationary on Monday 24/02/26 we reported the accident the same day and was told the car would be recovered on the 24/02/26 . We had a phone call on the 24/02/26 off Policy experts at 9.30 am to speak to my grandson but he wasn't at home because he was in work we give Policy experts his phone number but they said they couldn't contact him so when he came home at 2 pm he phoned Policy experts and they told him they where extremely busy and would phone him back at 4 pm which they didn't we tried to phone them back another twice after that between 4 and 6 pm but was told once again that they were extremely busy and sorry for not getting back to us so we thought we would try to phone again about 6.30 and we eventually spoke to an advisor named Naria who apologised for the poor service and went through the claim with myself and my grandson and she was very helpful with the claim she told us we should have a call from the Recovery agents called Arl on Wednesday morning about the recovery of my grandsons car but as of upto now we haven't received any phone calls or any confirmation from Policy Experts or the recovery company Arl we have also asked about a courtesy car as he his insured fully comprehensive and we received no reply from them I think this company is absolutely useless my grandsons is still awaiting for the recovery of his car as I am writing this review why is my grandson paying this company for car insurance when they are not doing nothing for him if they are extremely busy and they can't cope with the daily work load why don't they hire more people to deal with customers claims rather than leave feeble excuses that they are extremely busy.
During the registration process an error message stated my DoB did not manage that on the policy.
From that point I was unable to proceed with registration. 4 calls over a period of 4 hours went unanswered. To compound the problem an attempt to log in to my house policy was also aborted as my email was not recognised. 1 day later my phone call is still unanswered[ although important to you!!!]
Awful customer service. Guy arrived out to see what had happened and was useless. Identified a leak on the opposite side of where we said it was but wouldn’t listen. Even a novice could see it was not possible. It soon became clear that the reason was to avoid a payout as it was conveniently ‘ not covered’. Made a complaint because it was days from Christmas and we were told not to touch the rubble due to asbestos. No reply to complaint so had no choice but try to get help as 2 people in our home have health conditions. Couldn’t actually believe we had put out money for years on this cowboy ‘business’. Please go elsewhere to insure.
It would be great if long standing customers with no claims submitted, benefitted from better deals, as it seems loyalty is somewhat lacking here. I feel as though I’m subsidising others with my good record!
Cheap for a reason. Moved house and they said had to cancel policy and start a new one plus an £30 admin charge. The new quote was £100 more expensive than other quotes received so cancelled policy (for old house). Been trying to contact them for partial refund but no such luck and been on hold for over 25 mins. Gave up. AVOID
Declined to take the renewal quote owing to it being 2x expensive as the best quote from a 5star defacto competitor, then spending a further 3 calls totalling 2 hours with them trying to make them understand. In fairness, only 5 minutes talking to staff, and only one of the staff tried to 'put me through' but cut me off. Policy Expert then set me up with a credit agreement, which I am having to deal with removing from my credit score, and now they have sent me a review request. Well, here's a review.
Once I’d selected the quote from compare the market it was a very simple but informative process to complete my car insurance. Setting up the portal to manage my policy was very easy, straightforward and definitely worth doing.
