I ordered a gun from them and after a week I started to call to check on delivery. During the next 10 days I called 8 times and emailed twice. No response. I would get their message, I would leave my name and number but never a return call. I finally figured they didn't want to talk to me so I called on my wife's phone and they picked right up. Lots of apologies and explanations of their problems. Took three weeks for it to arrive at my FFL and even after the conversation they failed to put my contact info on the package so it sat there for another 3 days until I called them directly. Bad company, bad, bad.
One big diff from the others with whom I usually deal. Prepper did *not* charge the 6.5% recently passed Colorado Sin Tax on guns and ammo. I will buy from them as long as they offer these great prices, minimal shipping, and no Demshevik levy. Coloradans, take note.
Prepper Gun Shop has the best prices in the market ! They fill fast and wrap with care. My ammo traveled from North Dakota to Oregon and arrived in excellent shape. Their web process is completely secure and more detailed than another other ammo dealer. Nobody beats their shipping charges! Thank you, Prepper.
Being new to Prepper Gun shop, I found their website to be nicely laid out, easy to navigate and checkout to be a breeze. They make it perfectly clear whether something is in stock or not although there is no indication of how much is in stock until you try to place it in your cart. A quibble. Unlike most sites where you have to checkout, including providing all your personal and financial information (credit card), in order to find out what shipping, tax and total costs are, you just have to look at your cart at Prepper Gun Shop and it not only list the items in your cart and the price of those items, but it also gives you the subtotal, how much shipping will be, how much tax there will be and the orders total cost. I love it! (You do need to log in in order know what the tax is. Makes perfect sense.) I hesitate to mention prices because it’s subject to change, but as of this review, currently standard shipping is very inexpensive. Put one 20 round box of ammo in your cart or 50 boxes and the shipping cost is the same. Add a flame thrower to your cart and shipping cost still doesn’t increase. Unheard of. Of course, it’s impossible for me to guarantee that across the board or that it will be the case tomorrow, but this was my experience. (Firearms are just a tad more.)I’d never purchased from Prepper Gun Shop before, but I just couldn’t resist the best price on the internet for my caliber of choice. Because the price was so good and because of another potential ammo shortage looming I purchased three cases to add to my inventory. For this particular purchase I even got free shipping. I purchased on a Thursday afternoon, it shipped on Monday and I received it on Thursday. A whole week? Well, weekends don’t count when it comes to getting items out the door, (they’re closed), and by law ammo is required to be shipped by ground. I figure two business days to get my shipment out the door and three days traveling nearly 1,500 miles on a FedEx truck wasn’t bad. I can’t complain.I live on several acres in a rural area and FedEx has the bad habit of leaving my deliveries out by the gate near the street. I’ve never had anything stolen, but… Well, sorry FedEx, but Prepper Gun Shop has your number. ALL ammo shipments are shipped “signature required”. FedEx can’t leave it at the street. They have to come knocking on your door. One more small thing that makes a big difference: Most places I order ammo from just send the case of ammo in the manufacturers box. Everyone and their brother knows what’s in there leading to temptations. (Who among us hasn’t had a shipment of one thing or another just disappear in transit?) Well, not Prepper Gun Shop. The cases of ammo I purchased was packed inside plain boxes. The only thing on the outside is your typical FedEx shipping label with the senders name as “Prepper GS”. Not only is this more inconspicuous, but the double packing reduces the possibility of someone dropping your shipment in transit and dumping ammo everywhere.Prepper Gun Shop is not huge. You’re not going to find limitless variety and inventory here like in some of those massive online retailers. They have some after market parts and optics, but you’re not going to find that connector for your Glock or that charging handle for your AR-15. What you will find though is some pretty good prices, no gouging and quick more than reasonable shipping. The absolute only potential negative I might consider with Prepper Gun Shop is that, although they provide contact email and phone number, they don’t share their physical address. It’s a PO Box. I’m sure they have their reasons, but it’s a moot point because with a few strokes of the keyboard you can easily find the address elsewhere. Both Prepper Gun Shop and I are in free states were the 2A still means something. Far from dictatorships like California and New York. I expect I’ll be making a lot of future purchases from them and they are at the top of my browsers favorites list.
