I purchased a car for my daughter from Prestigio Cars Ltd yesterday. Given that the vehicle is 11 years old, I fully expected a few age‑related issues. What I did not expect was the level of dishonesty displayed by the initial salesman and mechanic.From the moment I began inspecting the car, the salesman dismissed every concern I raised with flimsy excuses and, at times, outright lies. One clear issue was the cracked rear third brake light, which had already begun letting water into the vehicle. I observed the mechanic removing the unit to inspect it, yet the salesman repeatedly tried to pull me away, insisting the water ingress was simply due to their cleaning process — a claim that was obviously untrue.Initially, the mechanic appeared professional and allowed me to watch him work. However, once he resealed the cracked light, I mentioned that the part would need replacing soon and that I would expect a price adjustment. He then showed me an online listing for a £10 unit, claiming it was brand new. It was clearly a second‑hand part. When I challenged him to show me the search results, he awkwardly backed down, claiming he had “lost the search history.”I then checked the touchscreen stereo and found it completely unresponsive. When I raised this with the salesman, he attempted to convince me that the system wasn’t touchscreen at all — despite the on‑screen prompts that could only be selected by touch. At that point, I had lost all trust in both him and the mechanic and called them out for their dishonesty. I refused to deal with either of them any further.The manager then stepped in, inspected the stereo himself, and immediately confirmed that I was correct. My experience with him was excellent — professional, honest, and straightforward and a pleasure to deal with and would recommend him. I made sure to tell him that had I not been present, my daughter would have been misled by his staff. Their behaviour was unacceptable and undermined what could have been a smooth and positive purchase.
Such lovely people, as a young first time buyer I could feel the kindness radiating when I came in. Ziggy was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the vehicle. Can’t thank him enough would definitely recommend!!! (The chocolate was an added bonus!!)
