Do not buy under any circumstance!

Do not buy under any circumstances. Terrible service. Even worse warranty cover. Please bear in mind my cover is called 5 Star & Assistance. Truth be told 1 star and no assistance would of been a name closer to the truth. After 3 weeks my car had an issue and I could not drive. Stated that I have 2 kids in nursery which I need to drop off and pick up, and also need to get to work myself. They told me I could only have a courtesy car if the repair came under warranty and took longer than 8 hours. So then had to hunt garages to get in asap. Once diagnosed told the repair was not covered and that was that. no courtesy car - nothing. Seems they only want to cover the things that are either A) highly unlikely to fail or B) cheap to repair. They won't even pay for the diagnostic work! Waste of time, waste of money. Warranty terms written to maximize profits with complete disregard for its paying customers. AVOID.

I chose my policy with AA Warranty in good faith

I chose my policy with AA Warranty in good faith that my car would be covered for the breakdown of my vehicle. When covering my car, I handed over all the information required by your company about my vehicle including mileage, age of the car etc.Their policy states and I quote ‘This protection will suit the demands and needs of an individual who owns a motor vehicle and wishes to insure against the costs of unforeseen mechanical and electrical failure.’ My vehicle suffered a mechanical breakdown which, going by your written confirmation in my policy statement. The Policy also state that it covers repair costs including labour charges, parts and VAT. Reasonable diagnostic charges where the breakdown is covered in this policy. Contributes towards out of pocket expenses.I had been sent from pillar to post to several different garages incurring multiple charges from different places. The insurance that I took out should have covered this. What was the point in me taking out the insurance if I still must pay for fixing it myself? There is no logic in that. I feel that AA Warranty has scammed me.AA Warranty suggested that I go to two different garages, and both garages requested that it should go to a main dealer. I informed AA Warranty, and was told that they would pay £48 per hour maximum for the diagnostics. I am yet to see this payment. The diagnostic payment was £199.50 which I have paid. Now I have the diagnostics, AA Warranty suggested that I take it to another garage which I chose myself. Their diagnostics was the same as the manufacturers. I contacted AA Warranty, who asked for the garage to phone them with their diagnostics. The garage has informed me that AA will not cover any repairs, as they feel it is wear and tear due to high mileage. If high mileage was in actual fact an issue, then why was this policy offered to me when this information was given at the start? All they were interested in doing is taking my money, on the hope that I would not claim. They had no intention of paying a dime towards any costs or issues that I might incur in the future. Understandably I am deeply exasperated. I have a wife and a small child and have been without my car for a month. This company is taking advantage of valuable families and this is not acceptable. I ended up paying £750, plus the £199.50 earlier stated. This is an outrage! I will be taking the matter further.

I have never been a fan of aftermarket warranties, but after purchasing a 4 year old car for cash, rather than having a loan for a newer vehicle, I decided to take the salesman's offer and pay for the AA warranty. 7 months in and my 508 developes a brake fault, rendering Abs, hand brake and anti roll back useless. I was directed to Halfords for diagnostic and repair, unfortunately it was beyond their capabilities, and I was forced to take the car to the main dealer, who diagnosed the fault of an ECU, and repaired it at a cost of almost £760, to cut a very long story short, AA warranty paid my claim of £640.
