Return was few minutes wait for bus drop back but car was ready to go and keys returned immediately.
I travel from Heathrow a lot and thought I would give Purple Parking T3 a try for a change, BIG MISTAKE. I booked parking with Purple parking at Heathrow at the end of last year for 10 days parking between 26th Jan until 5th Feb at a cost of £133. At time of booking I provided my vehicle details and registration number and paid on my debit card. On the day I arrived 2 hours before my flight and parked up in a normal car parking space in there multi-storey car park and then headed to the purple parking reception to hand in my keys. When I gave my name to the Indian lady behind the desk I was told there was an additional £275 to pay before they could accept my booking. When I asked why I was told it was because my vehicle is a van, I said yes it is a van but it’s the same size as a car the only difference is that it has no back windows, in fact the new mini’s are larger. The woman wouldn’t have it and started to get funny with me and said the cost is regardless of the size and that I had to pay or I couldn’t park. Now let me be clear this was not mentioned at time of booking despite them knowing what vehicle it was and even having my registration number. My van is a small year 2000 Peugeot partner it is smaller than most modern cars and is not a transit or high sided vehicle and it fits with room to spare in any normal car parking space including under the height barriers at all Multi- story car parks. I could understand if it was a Transit van or motorhome or something but it wasn’t. My flight was now due in under 2 hours and I didn’t have the time to make alternative arrangements without possibly missing my flight so I had no choice but to pay up but I believe this is what they count on tell people at the last minute so they don’t have a choice. To top it all off on my return I checked my banking and I had been charged for 11 days not 10. All together it cost me £408 just for 10 days parking and I could have got it just around the corner with another company for £89 for the same period. I tried to phone up to dispute but you just get sent in circles or to automated answer systems with no option to speak to a real person. Avoid purple parking like the Plague I have 4 other flights from Heathrow this year and will never use purple parking again.
The service was efficient and friendly. Parking here is more budget-friendly compared to the major airport. Finding the location was easy, despite a somewhat tricky U-turn. The only drawback was the bus transfer. The buses were packed and made stops at every terminal, resulting in a 40-minute journey back to my car from Terminal 2, which felt a bit exhausting after a long flight. Overall, the experience was quite positive, although the transfer was time-consuming.
The lack of clear email communication made it difficult to determine which "meet & greet" I was supposed to attend. I mistakenly went to the one on level 2, which turned out to be incorrect. The staff there directed me to level 4, but were unhelpful regarding the parking ticket I had obtained upon entering the car park. Not only did they refuse to assist, but their manner was far from what I would expect in a customer service role. This back and forth over the parking ticket almost caused me to miss my flight, something the staff on level 4 seemed indifferent to. When I returned from my trip, I found smoke coming from under the bonnet of my car, with the temperature gauge indicating over 80 degrees, a temperature I typically see only after driving for about 30 minutes. Given that they wouldn't have had time to drive it for that long, I can only conclude that one of the staff was driving recklessly. In summary: I strongly advise everyone to avoid this service!
I've been a user for years and generally had a good experience. Recently, I booked a 'park at hotel' deal for an airport due to an early flight. I later found out there was no shuttle service, which meant I had to plan for an additional £60 for taxis to and from the airport. Since there was a hotel right next to the parking area, I decided to cancel the hotel reservation and just book parking. Instead of a refund, I received a non-refundable voucher that can only be used for a stay at a specific hotel nearby, not for future parking. The support representative I chatted with was understanding, but unfortunately, there was little he could do.
The entire experience was seamless from start to finish. I dropped off the car and caught a bus to the airport. It took just 15 minutes to reach Terminal 3. It's not worth risking the unreliable parking services near the airport! The only downside was that after being picked up upon my return to Terminal 3, the bus made a stop at Terminal 5 before returning to collect my car.
The online booking was easy, and drop-off was quick and smooth. The staff were friendly. However, the pickup was frustrating. After getting our luggage, we were told to go to valet parking, where we waited outside in the cold for 20 minutes for our car. Quite disappointing. 😕
Disappointing experience! I was charged extra for valet services, and the car was delivered wet inside. It had been driven for miles, leaving me with no mileage to get home. The promised 'meet and greet' was lacking, as we had to wait 20 minutes for our car after a long flight. Not impressed.
