Just back from an absolutely fantastic Maltese Falcon multisport. The whole event is extremely well thought out, from the first day getting to know your fellow racers to the all-you-can eat buffet and exuberant hotel to finish, I can’t fault it. The route of the event is spectacular, too. Both land sections feature historical and cultural highlights along with some incredible landscapes and views. Most importantly, the people make the event. Rob, Seb, Fi and Kirsten formed a well oiled machine that was encouraging, supportive and lots of fun. The camaraderie on this one was second to none - well done RatRace on a fabulous event.
I’ve taken part in a number of Rat Race events and without fail they’ve been fantastic: really well organised, challenging and fun, but without the over-competitive focus of some other events. Most recently I’ve completed the Isles Ultra - running the length of the Hebrides - and I’ve no doubt that this has been the best event of the lot. Managing a trip like this must be a logistical nightmare, even before our weather/ferry challenges, but our event leader James handled it all so brilliantly and always with an amazing aura of calm. The rest of the crew were equally fantastic, producing huge amounts of tasty food/encouragement/jokes/hugs (but definitely not Compeed) whenever we needed them. I had a variety of fears coming into this (injuries/prep/everyone else being super-elite athletes etc) but the Isles Ultra was one of the best things I’ve ever done, and a big part of that was down to the group dynamic. Whilst there were definitely some amazing athletes among us I never felt out of my depth and the camaraderie and group support was such a huge part of this. I’ve spent most of the journey home working out which event I want to do next (the list is long).If you're on the fence about entering something like this, don’t hesitate - you absolutely should. I can't recommend it enough. Thank you so much Rat Race for a truly outstanding experience
This is my 3rd event with Rat Race and as always, fantastic! The Isles Ultra was an epic adventure from the get go. What a fabulous way to see remote areas without a worry...Rat Race has YOU covered. I can not recommend their events enough! Life is short, sign up now and make memories for a lifetime
Just completed the Isles Ultra of the Outer Hebrides! What a great event. Have done a few events with Rat Race and love these small group ones the best. We were so well looked after by James, Jacq's and Jools (who I've been brilliantly looked after by before) and Emmi and Doc Luke doing such a great job, with Jimmy taking amazing photos! The group was exceptional! It was reunion for some of us that did Run Britannia in 2023 and was great o be back out on the trails with those guys, but the whole group were fab, support between each other was fantastic and I came away with new friends. Weather was a problem at times, with ferry crossings being cancelled, but James was on top of everything, and we knew going in, this could happen and there may have to be a plan b, c or beyond. We were still able to get a greats amount packed in, with additional options if we wanted them. Its a tough event, but with the support its is achievable!Felt great to be back doing a multi day event and I loved it! Thank you all
