Review Time
We were really looking forward to our stay at Bear’s Den Gem based on how beautiful it looks online. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations — it felt more like “Barely a Gem.”
From arrival, we had major issues with the internet despite being told it was restored. The provided hotspot was choppy and only supported two TVs on the main floor, making remote work impossible for multiple adults.
There were also safety and cleanliness concerns: exposed nails in a bedroom entryway, stained sheets, and dog waste throughout the backyard that was dismissed as wildlife (it was not). Door and pool alarm issues, along with other maintenance items, should have been addressed before guest arrival. While maintenance fixed most urgent issues, it took two days and multiple follow-ups. We spent a large portion of our trip chasing resolutions and felt unheard and dismissed.
Additionally, although located in a gated community, entering each time you leave is time-consuming and frustrating.
The home photographs well and has potential, but it currently lacks the upkeep, responsiveness, and reliability families need. I would not recommend this property to anyone who requires dependable WiFi, strong safety standards, and prompt support.
I’m hopeful that because of our experience these issues will be resolved for future guests — but unfortunately, it had to be us who experienced them, and the handling of the final resolution was very disappointing.
We’ve stayed in the Reunion Resort for 3 consecutive years. (Different homes rented each time). This property is well below the standard we’ve come to expect from Reunion Resort.
Upon arrival our early check-in (for which we paid an additional $154 was said to be ‘unavailable’). After much consternation and calls with the property manager, ultimately we were thankfully able to access the property. The majority of the home had an infestation of very small ants (even though there were visible ant traps in most rooms). Very off-putting; particularly in the kitchen! The upstairs super-hero bedroom smelled moldy and damp the entire time. The outdoor grill was non-functional (broken knobs, etc. totally unusable). The majority of the toilet paper and towel holders in the bathrooms were broken and falling out of the walls. The air hockey game was only marginally workable (pucks got stuck on the sides constantly during gameplay). One of the motorcycle video games didn’t even turn on at all.
The main living room couch had multiple visible stains on it. The area rug underfoot was stained and dirty, as were all the bathmats.
I will say that the pool and spa were well heated and maintained and very enjoyable.
Ultimately for the cost and given the multitude of other options available in the Orlando area, I would not recommend staying here.
It’s too bad honestly, because our previous two stays at Reunion were outstanding!
Lovely home for our corporate retreat. Many of the TVs and remotes didnt work. I would imagine its impossible to keep them from getting mixed up. The TV in the dining room would not stay connected to our computers which was a little frustrating, however the one in the living room connected fine just was not ideal for our meeting portion. Had everything we needed and the extra side kitchen was so helpful for us to organize meals without disrupting the main space. Half of the games didnt work in the game room and some were missing the pieces you needed to play. The theater was AMAZING and was a total bonus as we were there during the winter Olympics. We would stay here again and hope some of these items were fixed for the next time.
Overall, it was a good experience; the home was cozy and matched the photos. However, a few of the smaller bedrooms lacked sufficient clothing storage. The pool in this unit doesn't receive full sun, so it remained a bit chilly despite the heat, but the hot tub was excellent. The representative was very helpful. I would consider using this service again.
We had a pleasant stay at a stunning home with upscale interiors and quality furnishings. The property features high-end appliances and is located by a golf course, complete with a pool and hot tub. However, we encountered a few issues: the video game didn't function, the air hockey table's power button was unresponsive, and the air conditioning in the game room was too cold to adjust. The golf cart didn't provide much value as there weren't many places to go, and parking was limited to two cars, which was strict due to regulations about street parking. With four couples and four cars, this posed a challenge. Additionally, the house was short on toilet paper, and there were no toiletries like shampoo or conditioner. We had to purchase these at a nearby store. The soap provided was also subpar. While the house is beautiful, the stairs were quite steep, making it difficult for older guests. Checkout was strictly at 10 am, and the cleaning crew arrived just after, underscoring their punctuality. Despite these issues, I would consider renting from this service again, as communication was adequate. We truly enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub, which was worth the extra cost. There were some minor inconveniences like a lack of extra blankets and limited trash cans, but overall, I rate the experience 4 out of 5 stars and would return to this location. The house is fantastic, just needs a few adjustments like more toilet paper, shampoo, better soap, clearer instructions for the alarm, and fixing the games. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay. Overall, the house provided a unique experience. Everyone, from kids to adults, had nonstop fun. Each room and bathroom was spacious, and the kitchen had ample counter and table space. Hosting 25 people for 4 nights was comfortable for everyone. The hospitality service was exceptional, with quick responses when we needed help. The location was ideal, surrounded by shopping centers and malls, in a safe and beautiful area. The family will definitely return.
The property was lovely and clean, and my family enjoyed a great Thanksgiving stay. We had no issues with the home itself, which was well maintained. However, future guests should note that the listing inaccurately states 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms; it actually has 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. One bedroom shares a bathroom with another, which is across the hall. This was misleading and inconvenient. Additionally, the company's policies felt unreasonable, with a 4 PM check-in and a 10 AM check-out. I was quoted $250 for an early check-in, despite no prior guests, and another $250 for a late check-out. Such high fees are excessive. Lastly, heating the spa incurred an extra charge, which should have been included at this price. The home itself was great, but due to the misleading bathroom setup and unreasonable fees, I wouldn't book with this company again.
