Review Time
The phone line doesn't have an option to hold on the line for an operator anymore. I've been trying all day and all I get is the line is extremely busy try again later and then it hangs up. There's no other alternative number to reach Revenue and the app doesn't help much which my query, usually I get the option to stay on the line until I get an operator to help me solve my issue. So now what are we supposed to do?? Since you've removed the option to hold on the line??? This isn't good enough in fact it's extremely bad since we're left with no other options as the phone hangs up o you. Please change this to the way it always has been.This is ridiculous who's ever idea this was to change everything a d to removed the hold option. Now I'm left with no help whatsoever so what am I going to do now? Arrrrrggggg
The people that work here are great! Every single time I've spoke to someone I've had my problem or query resolved instantly. Everyone is very pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely helpful! The site isn't great. It has an irritating log in system. It's terrible to navigate, its not user friendly - BUT it is useable for certain tasks, and I'm familiar with it now.My problems arise when there is an issue that CANNOT be solved online. What is going on with the phones? The option to hold has been removed. "Sorry, we're too busy to take your call, try again later". Their office closes at 13:30. I have tried multiple times to get through, and at no point was given an option to hold for someone. So I gave up. I discovered a alternative (but not ideal) solution for my issue - that could be done online. I logged in, mid way through implementing my new solution I was logged out of the site. And have since been unable to log back in, either on laptop or phone.It's 16:30. There's nothing I can do now. It's a ongoing payroll issue that should have been resolved last week, but is now going to carry on to next week. This is something that could have been solved in less than 5 minutes on a phone call. Or if the website was fit for purpose. For the record I've been had this issue more than a few times. Just this time I needed to vent. Just another thing in Ireland that's broken.
Revenue is awful in terms of reaching them, I have tried to call and sent enquiries for more then a week with no joyHowever once you get through to them they are very nice and helpfulI had an issue with my HTB application and needed to sort it out urgentlyEven though at the revenue main office they could not help with my query I received good advice and help on what to do Help to buy department urgently need a phone line as a lot of people have issues with their application
Awful experience, I understand it might take time to answer a call because of the volume revenue receives, but for them to hang up on me mid sentence or when Ive finally gotten through to an agent is just disgusting. The agent I spoke to was speaking to me in a bit of a rude tone when I didnt know something about my account, not everyone knows how to use the website or workout their taxes, very unhelpful.
I had a very positive experience talking to Maurice in revenue.ie today (hope I got your name spelling okay) today. 14 minute hold time, not bad these days. Patient, diligent and professional. We can all be sceptical of these services, at times, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks Maurice. Keep up the good work.
I think the revenue are actually brilliant. Due to having a rubbish accountant filing my vat return, I was audited in 2017 or 2018. I was shocked and nervous about having to go through the process. They came to my house and we went through all the vat filings together. They were super helpful, never once made me fell this was my fault and I learnt a lot from it. The vat filings had been incorrectly filed by my accountant but by an immaterial amount and so no fines but I honestly felt these people were here to help me and teach me. It was such a nice change!! Thank you to vat revenue, you are a credit to our government.
