Review Time
Like others, I ordered a hardcover edition of a book but ended up with a digital download. I reached out immediately after reporting the issue to the appropriate authorities. They responded, stating they only sell digital books but would process a refund if I provided my order details. I also shared a screenshot showing their website clearly indicating that hardcover books were available and 'in stock.' I regret not checking reviews beforehand, as I usually do.
I wholeheartedly agree with the previous feedback. Had I seen those reviews sooner, I would have steered clear of this service. The website explicitly mentions a hardback book, along with the page count and free shipping. Instead, I received a link to an ebook, which I have chosen not to use. I am currently in the process of requesting a refund and will wait to see how they respond. If necessary, I will escalate this with my credit card provider. Steer clear of this service.
I'm relieved I looked for reviews. Their price for a current hardback at just £7.99 with free delivery seemed unbelievable, so I checked their registration. They are listed as a real estate company... That's when I searched for reviews. The entire 'About Us' section on their site about being a group of librarians and book industry professionals is clearly misleading. I'm sorry for those who were deceived by this service!
I am truly disheartened for not looking into reviews about this deceptive site. As others have mentioned, the item was listed as a hardback "book" rather than an ebook! I've requested a refund, but I’m not optimistic, so I plan to initiate a payment dispute through my bank. It’s a hassle, but at least it prevents them from easily profiting.
Like others, I wish I had checked reviews beforehand as I genuinely believed I was ordering a hardback book, which was not mentioned as an ebook in the main description. The price seemed appropriate for a hardback, considering the ebook version is available for half the cost. I contacted them, but they insist on no refunds even though I haven't received the download. The book was intended for my 90-year-old dad who has no means to download it. I question if this description complies with the sales of goods regulations, as I was unaware until after payment when they sent a download notification. Caution to fellow buyers!
Yes, I've been scammed as well. The website states hardback, yet it doesn't mention ebook anywhere. £13.90 for an ebook? Outrageous. I emailed them a complaint, and they stopped responding. They don't answer phone calls, despite having a number listed. I will definitely try to get them shut down.
I purchased a 'hardback' from this service and received a link to download instead; nowhere on the site does it indicate it's an ebook, making it a total scam! I bought this for my 85-year-old neighbor who loves books. I can't understand how these individuals live with themselves.
I'm absolutely devastated that I didn't check for reviews about this fraudulent site. As others have pointed out, the book was described as a hardback 'book' and NOT an ebook! I've requested a refund but am not optimistic, so I will initiate a payment dispute with my bank. It's a hassle, but at least it denies them easy money.
