The perks are nice, but heaven forbid you need customer service. You’ll end up waiting on hold so long that your phone battery dies before you even get through. If you’re lucky enough to speak with someone, they’re usually reading from a script and have no authority to make any decisions. I recently made a payment to Rocket Mortgage, and they processed it twice. I called before the transaction went through to stop it, explaining that it was right after Christmas and I was strapped for cash, though at least my kids had a wonderful holiday. Rocket's amazing customer service team told me they couldn’t stop the payment, and that I should contact my bank to request a stop payment on one of the charges. So, I did, and that cost me $25 in fees.Now, Rocket Mortgage is charging me an additional $37 for the returned funds—and they won’t even credit my account. This entire issue stemmed from their system error, yet I’m out $62 just after Christmas. I know it’s not a huge amount, but if this is the way they treat all their customers, it’s simply not okay.
I have an online account with this firm; when logging in, when the 2-step authentication system verifies you, the code gets sent to the phone number that the account was set up with . . . I NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO THE PHONE NUMBER & ROCKET MONEY WON'T LET ME CHANGE THE PHONE NUMBER!
