Friendly, approachable and knowledgeable helpful and very kind staff.Environmental and community focus.Educational. Great value for money with workshops, seeds and plug plants and tools etc included. I love that we share crops with local charity. The tree nursery to help nurture the local environment and wild flowers to help wildlife, which there certainly is an increase in over the years. I see much more diversity since Roots arrived from when I used to walk in the field.I have been with Roots since the very beginning and I am looking forward to many more happy years together.
I so love my plot! Managers so helpful, all the tools I need, loads of seeds included in my subscription. I've met some lovely people and everyone is full of ideas. Having waited on the council list for years I got a plot immediately with Roots and now have potatoes, broad beans, radishes, carrots and peas growing 💗 The tipi goes up soon and it will add to the community feel. Nothing negative from me :)
Great opportunity to get growing. Everything you need to get started. Tools, space, seeds and plug plants. I love my plots. And I love what it allows me to to for my family. Local organic food. Been on an allotment waiting list for years.
Excellent set up. Informative free visit with no pressure. The site is well set up with everything you could need to get you going. I think prices are very reasonable considering what is provided. So pleased I found them instead of waiting years for a council plot.
Roots provides everything you need to get started with an allotment plot. All of the equipment (wheelbarrows/spades/rakes/watering cans) are on site, there’s water in accessible distance to all plots, and the site manager Coxy is happy to help via message or in person! You even get all of your seeds provided! There is such a relaxed vibe at roots and, yes you do pay slightly more than you would at a council plot, but in my eyes it’s so worth it. I absolutely love roots and I hope it keeps growing the way it is.
I highly recommend Roots and my experience so far has been nothing but positive! I’m a beginner and this is certainly less daunting than starting from scratch. You receive expert advice on site from the patch manager and much needed moral support! All the tools you need are on site and you don’t even have to buy anything to give it a go. Roots provide a bumper pack of seeds and plug plants for you to get started. Water is included too. I cannot even apply to my council for an allotment as the waiting list is closed and has been for some time. Fantastic location for me too. I am recommending to all my friends who have shown interest too.
A different allotment experience with tools on site, different sized plots to suit all. Seeds and plug plants are provided and theres a great community spirit focussing on a positive and healthy environment. Lessons in person and online with added activities such as bird feeder making - for kids of all ages. Very supportive for new growers like myself.
