Rspca insurance has shown itself to be totally dishonest, and having no regard for its existing clients and their pets, or animal welfare - by shunting loyal customers off to a new insurer without consent.
*The new insurer (with a new name) that the old clients have been moved to, does not back the rspca animal welfare body. Its a total, new entity.
*The insurers are also using a further confidence trick: once again to attract new customers who want to do the right thing by the animals in need, and who have sought to support the rspca welfare body through "new rspca insurance policies".
*The same old insure your pet and support the rspca is being sold.
*This absolutely needs a government investigation.
It cannot be swept under the carpet.
*Also to move long term rspca insurance customers without their permission to another insurer, and that has nothing to do with rspca insurance, and has a new name and regulations, must be be illegal.
*To use the name of the animal welfare agency rspca to sell New rspca insurance policies which do "support animals in need with rspca" in another form is very dodgy.
*Then to top it off, saying to old RSPCA insurance holders moved out to a new different named company "come home to to RSPCA pet insurance " (new policies). What a joke.
*I wonder who / what body/s reaped the financial sweepstakes of this confidence trick.
-It's not the policy holders or their animals.
-Nor is it the animals who need financial support of donors in rspca care facilities.
This has got too be one of the worst pet insurance cons for a very long time.
A proper government level, and broad media
investigation needs to be undertaken.

In January we cancelled our insurance with RSPCA - but a few days later our dog was limping and they allowed us to reinstate the policy. Nothing came of the limping but several months later (4 weeks ago now) we sadly lost our dog. A very difficult time for us. RSPCA were compassionate throughout - genuinely - paid out close to £3500 - no quibbles just got in with it and paid out. Even paid for the cremation costs before we put claim in. Phone was answered every time we called - no hanging about. Highly recommend them - you get what you pay for and we were mightily pleased to be in their hands at a difficult time - superb service - well done and thank you. Jeremy
Similar to other reviews, cancelling the policy is very painful. They didn’t respond to my email to cancel so I called and arranged for my policy not to renew on 31 December. I received email confirmation. I then randomly received another email a few days later advising it would be cancelled on 15 December. I contacted them requesting they dont cancel it until 31 December as per my initial request not to renew the policy. This was then confirmed on email that the policy would run until 31 December and then not renew. I then unbelievably got an email a few days later saying the policy would auto renew on 31 December. Absolutely ridiculous.
Waited 20 mins on the phone to ask 2 simple questions that the website was incapable of doing.1. to add another pet to existing policy. How much?2. How much to add optional extras (which I thought we were covered for - vaccinations and so on).The person who answered then transferred to another phone and they could not tell me how much for either of the options but wanted a code and asked if I was using the same card for the transactions. Surely this is illegal? We've hardly ever claimed as we have 3 young dogs. What are we paying money for?As an addendum I got a call back from them following a complaint. When I complained about the call centre, was told that she can put a note on my cover to include being able to talk to someone in Australia. Like it’s a default that you wish 40 mins for a call centre to answer.
Rspca have put so many obstacles in my way when I try to cancel my my pet insurance policy for my deceased dog.Been insured with rspca for life of two pets and did not expect this treatmentWill never insure with RSPCA againStill waiting for cancellation of policy while paying instalments.RIDICULOUS!!!
Have been with RSPCA near on 3 years just got my 3rd renewal which had gone from $61 to $79 we started at 49.We have never claimed for anything huge so 18 dollar increase is crazy but looking at reviews at other companies not good either only Petsy which I will look in to a again cover details make it hard to compare so just want to be careful. Just know that these companies start off good then hike up the prices hoping you don't have the time to do around.
Had a policy for our 2 dogs for very long time, on calling to transfer the policy into my fathers name as primary carer they reinstated a whole NEW policy with an increased premium. Not advised of this at the initial conversation had with the representative and very poor communication. Be aware of ‘sneaky’ fees and any reason to bump up the premium. The representative I spoke to refused to escalate my complaint and it was left there. Have now changed insurance providers and have never been happier!
I’ve been with your company since my dog was a puppy, over 12 years of loyalty and this is how you repay your customers?$116 per fortnight for a small 12-year-old dog?! That’s over $3,000 a year. Are you seriously trying to justify this? People are struggling to make ends meet and you continue to hike up prices without any consideration for the financial pressure we’re under. Now I have to choose between my own health insurance and my dog’s and guess what? Her pet insurance costs more than mine. And if I cancel, you wipe her cover for good because she's over the age threshold. What kind of system is that? You’ve trapped people into staying with you no matter how outrageous the cost gets.Increasing premiums by $20 year after year is disgusting. You are preying on people’s love for their pets. This isn’t just overpriced, it’s robbery. Shame on you.No excuses. No justification. Just pure greed.
