Lost my debit card and got a new one at the branch. Needed to change my account info and tried for an hour but it would never accept the change. A 2 hour telephone support session , where i was instructed to do the same thing over and over again with the same problem. Would not recognize the card number or the new PW given to me by Scotiabank. To the branch on Monday where they fix the issue or the account gets moved.

The usual ask for online support, and get none, after 2 hours.

Scotiabank has always been THE BANK!

Scotiabank has always been my trusted bank! I really rather it over the local banks because they ensure they keep your money safe! I’ve never been scammed and they always have an alert for EVERYTHING! Love that! Love that I can watch my money and so my day to day transactions from my phone!

They have all my money blocked just…

They have all my money blocked just because I changed my phone number and can no longer receive their verification code. I live abroad, far from Mexico, and the only option they offer me is to travel back there to regain access to my account.It’s unbelievable that, with the technology available today, Scotiabank still has such an outdated and inefficient system. They don’t provide any secure or modern solution for people in situations like mine. Their level of service is far below that of top international banks, which actually care about accessibility and customer experience.

I have banked with Scotia since 1997

I have banked with Scotia since 1997, and they have been good. My HSBC account recently converted into an RBC acount, and this has not been a good experience. I appreciate Scoiabank even more now that I have experienced RBC (which I reviewed and had no hesitation in giving one star).

Poor customer service

Their customer service is among the worst I have experienced, and they are not reliable. I changed my contact information, then within the month, my mail still went to the old address, so I changed it again. Then, a few months after I had to change it again... Then, even up to a year after, I am still battling with them to ensure my correct address is updated. Also, whenever you call or email for information, it is inconsistent, and they are generally unhelpful, it feels like they are doing you a favour. The timeliness of their replies is up to a week, sometimes, they don't reply at all.

False Offers

I don’t understand why this Scotiabank listing has a description not in English. Anyways I received an offer pre approval for a credit card and a specific limit from email(.)scotiabank(.)com I added the brackets because would show as a link. I clicked to accept takes me to login and I do then no offer showing. It read to accept by a specific date and it’s a week away. I called customer service waited over an hour on que they couldn’t help and suggested a branch. I booked an appointment with one and they couldn’t help. I asked if there’s an actual department that has the ability to assist me. I guess they just false advertising pre-approvals.

I truly enjoy this bank

I truly enjoy this bank. I like the fact that i dont have to deal with the queues anymore, which used to drive me crazy... With scotiabank, i can just grab my phone and control my funds easily. Making deposits and withdrawal with it is not a problm as well. Yet, the problem is with the speed of international transferss, it takes waaay to long ://

ScotiaBank rewards program - proceed with caution!!

I have recently signed up with Scotiabank 'passport' as I travel most of the time and this card does not charge foreign exchange fees. Thats good. However, the other MAJOR advantage I wanted was the "6 free airline lounge passes per year" option. Unfortunately know one (except maybe the marketing department) has a clue about this benefit/option. I have just been on their online help app (specifically their rewards dept) and they have not a clue.
