Wont use them again - didn't like the way they overcharged massively for Brake Fluid and Fuel treatment etc. Phone call rushed telling me how much the extras were, and I had to ask him to tell me the cost overall three times as he said the cost so quickly? - couldn't believe after playing the initial £158 for the service (including pick up and delivery back) that he a wanted some £800 plus and they still hold your car don't forget! £198.32 plus vat for brake fluid change for instance to name some on the list !! Crazy price! He agreed to add something free as a favour when I showed my concern at the giant leap of the cost. I eventually paid £586 (on top of the original £158) instead of the initial £800 he quoted on the phone to get the car returned.
Avoid! I'll be going direct to a garage again in the future, and always ask them exactly what the service in parts cost, plus what any extra fluids cost if needed.

Wished I'd read reviews befire booking anxiously waiting for my car back, paid for full service then was rung to advise extras totalling £748.98.
Only agreed to special oil replacement at 29.99 , and eng oil sump as was told had to be done alongside the oil change so extra 53.98. I seem to have got off lightly altho not yet got my car back.

Use this company at your own peril. They connive with the garage to extort money from customers. They impose fees on customers and insist you pay and when you refuse, they seize your car.
DO NOT USE THEM.

Service Stop is a scam. I paid £150 for an electric car service & MOT. They called me saying all is fine but recommend to change brake fluid and cabin filter, I asked how much it would cost-- £75+VAT. When I got the bill it was £584! I did not want to pay as it was WAY out of the agreed price, but they said I "misunderstood" them and were going to hold my car hostage until I pay the fee. Since I did not have the money, they made me sign up to a direct debit scheme just to get my car back.

Turns out they subcontract the services to other companies and charge you extreme prices. The people who actually did my service said everything they did cost £120. So they basically upcharged me 4 times what it should have cost-- which is absolutely INSANE.

Absolutely do not use them!

Pure Rip‑Off Merchants — Please Read and save yourselves a lot of money and stress
Yesterday, I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life: I trusted Servicing Stop. I booked an MOT and service for £187. The day before, I received multiple texts confirming my car would be collected between 8am and 10am, along with a number I was told to “save.”
10am came and went. No driver. I tried calling the number — completely useless, just a recorded message. I went online to find another way to contact them and ended up stuck in circles with a bot that might as well not exist. Eventually, I found an email address and asked why my car hadn’t been collected. The reply? They would “look into it.”
At 10:53, I finally got a message saying the driver was on his way. When he arrived, I asked which garage my car was going to and for a contact number. He was reluctant to tell me anything. Only after speaking to his manager did he give me the details.
At 15:38, I received a call from — yes, I’m naming you — Dean, who launched into a long list of supposed faults. According to him, I needed new wipers, a new tyre, new oil, new brake fluid, an engine flush (“you only get one chance to do this,” he warned), new antifreeze, and the big one: an engine belt for £328.88.
I asked which of these were required for the MOT. Dean insisted the brake fluid, engine oil, and engine flush were essential. Feeling pressured, I agreed and paid an extra £379.39.
When the garage returned my car, I asked them about the engine belt. They looked confused — they knew nothing about it. I told them what I’d been charged for, and they looked visibly shocked.
Then I checked my MOT certificate. Only one advisory: a slightly damaged tyre. And the MOT had been completed at 12:18 — nearly three hours before Dean called me with his list of “urgent” issues.
He knew my car had already passed. He still pushed me into paying for work that wasn’t needed.
I’ve emailed customer services asking for a refund and was told my complaint has been “escalated.” I’m not holding my breath. This company has caused me stress, upset, and a complete loss of trust — exactly what you don’t need when dealing with something as important as your car MOT.
I’ve reported everything to Trading Standards in the hope that no one else gets caught out like I was.
And Dean — you asked me for a review. Here it is, from one very unhappy customer.

ABSOLUTELY STAY CLEAR OF THIS..I WISH TO GOD I HAD!!
BE WARNED ⚠️
I'm sick of the way I was treated last Aug...
I was put into debt with using this... what started as a simple pick up service & mot..
Grew and grew in cost over a few days until I was made to for out nearly €1500
Started at just under €500 then kept escalating!
The Garage that came to pick up the car from Duns in Scottish Borders was the owner himself..
As a disabled female he clocked on very quickly.
Once I paid so I could infact get my car back I had to put in fresh oil less than 2 wks later!!
Of course he'd done nothing on the service front..
When I tried to complain my calls & emails were completely ignored..
Simply couldn't get through..
I'm sure they've no problem being fraudulent with anyone.. able or disabled..
I'm €1500 down on something they didn't do.. it might sound gd.. because it does..
However the Garages they deal with are absolute scammers.. I was completely ripped off and had to borrow to pay this off...
I never received my service stamp and the mot which they wouldn't pass unless I paid upfront was disgusting..
I'd rather give NO STARS this was the worst thing I've ever done.
Don't be drawn in..unless I get the majority of my money back and an apology...I've absolutely NOTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT CON MEN THAT HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONSCIENCE ABOUT WHAT THEY DID AND HOW MUCH I SUFFERED FOR IT... STILL AM!

YOURE DISGUSTING !! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!

Worst experience:

Firstly, if for whatever reason you might need assistance, which will happen as servicing stop are awful. This is the only number you might be able to get hold of someone on. 020 3873 6151 Or 020 3870 1067. I spoke to someone called Dominic(not sure this is actually his name but it was what I was told) he is an absolute A-hole and hung up on me many times and refused to answer my calls after I said I didn’t want the extra work completed (which the garage confirmed didn’t need to be done). I did have to pay the ridiculous surcharge for special oil, nothing special about it btw! This was in order to get my car released, once paid I tried to call back, but he ignored me for about 2 hours and then garage closed so I don’t have my car back at the moment and have to go another day without a car, with kids and the school run!

I did however speak to someone called Marvin, again not sure if that is his actual name but he was polite and nice. He couldn’t really help me as they refer you to customer service.

So firstly I was booked to service my car on Monday, no one turned up no word from servicing stop. I chased the garage myself who then said they had lots of staff off sick and wouldn’t be able to pick the car up. I had to rearrange through servicing stop. I did this via email for Thursday, as I did not have the above numbers at this point. Thursday comes they collect my car at 10am. I get a call from servicing stop at midday saying I need an engine flush and brake fluid replaced. All this was going to cost me 300 -400.

I said I would think about it and call him (Dominic) back.

I called garage to ask if this was true they were reluctant to give me much info just kept referring me back to servicing stop. I called servicing stop back and asked them to explain this. They said they physically couldn’t return my car as the oil had been drained and they couldn’t put fresh oil in without flushing the engine. Also rubbish as they can’t do anything to my car that is going to cost money without my consent. He said my car was dangerous and they were not liable if something went wrong and that the service would not be complete.

I hung up at the point as my blood was boiling. I then called garage back and asked them again if this was true and if they could please help. This time they said they had changed my oil and everything was fine and that nothing was needed and I shouldn’t sign up to anything if I’m pressured. They stated that the car is and was ready to go for some time and that they are just waiting on confirmation from servicing stop to release the car and that I had to pay the 30 pound surcharge in order to have it released.

I paid the surcharge and then I have explained everything else at the beginning from this point on.

I just think they are awful and use scare tactics to get people to spend money unnecessarily. The prices they quote are also way higher than if you would pay if you took your car directly to a garage.

My experience with Dominic was awful and when I did finally get hold of him, after the garage had closed he claimed he did not lie and garage had told him what he told me and that he did not hang up on me. All lies and then proceeded to hung up on me again. That’s when I got hold of Marvin who was much nicer but essentially could not help.

I would never do another service with them. It’s been sooo stressful and there was nothing convenient about it. I am currently wanting for customer service to get back to me over email which they say takes 5-7 working days JOKE !!!!

Don’t book with them !!!!!!!

Update- no one has returned my email !!! So clearly don’t get back to anyone and send generic apology messages
