I’m out of work on short term disability and my medical provider at Ortho Carolina uses Sharecare for their FMLA and STD medical records resource. I submitted my medical records request 3 times in which they stated they never received. I had my providers office send the medical forms and request 2 times and they finally received them. My STD case manager reached out to Sharecare for my medical records and never received them. I tried calling Sharecare several times always unable to get someone on the phone. I received an email from them requesting payment for my medical records to be released, in which I paid and they still didn’t send my records. I emailed them several times with no reply and because of their lack of communication and service, I almost had my STD and FMLA denied. I had to get my medical providers office to help me get medical records sent. They took over a month after I paid the fee to send my medical records. I have to extend my leave and now they are charging me again to just send updated medical records. This company is ridiculous!! Their level of service is a 0!! They don’t reach out, keep you updated, return phone calls or emails. I will never again deal with this company!!
Extremely disappointing. I thought previous services were lacking, but the company that the local area is now using is truly underwhelming. Over a month has passed, and I STILL haven’t received a call to start processing my paperwork. All I receive are empty promises...
Utterly disappointing. I thought the previous service was inadequate, but the company that has taken over is completely unacceptable. It's been over a month, and I STILL haven’t received a call just to start the process of my paperwork. All I get are unfulfilled promises...
Frustrating experience with record retrieval. I contacted the service at the request of my doctor's office, which outsources their record handling. I needed basic records sent from my previous physician to my new one. I called four times, spent over 20 minutes on hold each time, and never reached an agent. I even tried their online chat, only to be told I needed to call the team managing the records. I never received the needed documents and had to start fresh using what I could access on my own.
After ten years with my employer, I've dealt with FMLA paperwork many times, but this experience has been the worst. I’ve never had to pay for paperwork before, and it has never been this stressful to complete. Currently on pregnancy leave, I submitted my paperwork on November 27th, only to find out that the service handles all FMLA documents now. That was my first red flag. They charged me $50 and didn't send the forms until late on December 19th, which my employer wouldn’t accept due to errors. I had to wait until the next week to address this, but it seems my request got lost in the holiday backlog. Now, I’m appealing my denied leave due to their delays. This outsourcing of paperwork is concerning, especially when people's livelihoods are at stake.
I’ve had three major surgeries and never faced issues getting my leave of absence paperwork processed. After my visit on December 3rd, I immediately called the service to request paperwork. I followed up twice, only to learn on December 18 that I needed to pay $35. They hadn’t even contacted my doctor yet. Now my leave has been denied, putting my 40-year job at risk because they don’t provide the necessary information for the process. If I could give zero stars, I would.
The staff at this facility are incredibly incompetent, providing the worst service imaginable. Vulnerable patients are left waiting for their medical records if a facility manages them through this service. Taking weeks to process records without an option for urgent requests is completely unacceptable.
I have been trying to get my elderly mother's records sent to her memory care facility since late June. It’s now November. Everything is done via fax and mail, which is outdated and slow. After four months, I was told they mailed the request to the wrong address. They provided a case number and apologized, but now they claim the facility must request the records, not my mother or her representative. This lack of communication and efficiency is frustrating, especially since they managed to send it to an unknown address before.
This service is genuinely the worst I have encountered. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful, which is impressive given how poor other services have been. They ignore emails and support requests, are dismissive on calls, and will even leave chats if pressed about their shortcomings. It’s a complete disaster. I would gladly pay to never have to deal with this company again.
