After searching the web I came across a few companies to transfer our car from Australia to the UK. After a few quotations I settled on SMC due to savings of over £350 compared to the others.SMC provided an online portal that gave good communication as we progressed the transfer to the UK. Documentation was straight forward and easy to understand.After many months of goverment compliance etc we now have our car, it did take 6 months from start to finish but no delays from SMC.They valeted the car inside and out and she looked great. I would used SMC in the future and would recommend them to any other person considering using their services. First class operation.Paul BartlettSouth Wales.

Communication with the team has been really great, any question I had was answered quickly and answered conclusively.The portal system is great for seeing the progress with your car and makes it clear anything that might be outstanding.Picking the car up and meeting some of the team and facilities was really good and their garage is very impressive.My car hadn't been driven on the road for over 4 months but driving it home was absolutely hassle free and testament to the detailed job ShipMyCar team did.A great company to deal with and would highly recommend them to anybody importing a car in to the UK.
ShipMyCar dealt with the move of my landrover Defender from South Africa to Uk. The journey, clearance and tests took a while ( not Shipmy car fault!) and throughout the team kept me posted. ShipMyCar did everything they said they would, were informative and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending them! Great folks!
ShipMyCar are a very professional well run company. I used them to ship 2 cars and whilst there were challenges to be overcome with both vehicles, ShipMyCar handled them very well, and kept me informed of progress either by e-mail, or through their very informative client portal
Order placed and paid for an Arizona car import on 4 May 2018, and car received end of July, making the entire process 3 months. During this time, there was poor communication, while initially the title was "lost". I had to waste my time chasing FedEx and a copy of the title, then two weeks later it turned out misplaced by CFR - something they should have chased all along.Once the car arrived the repairs were estimated at about £2000 and was told it's a "restoration" job. Mind you, anything above changing a wheel bearing is probably a restoration for them. It took 3 months to get the mechanicals sorted. And they broke the electricals. These took another 5 months to get sorted because the technician left the company and no one else was qualified to work on electricals. I am actually not sure if this shop actually is qualified to repair cars at all. Perhaps the only licence they have is to import them. At no point they told me they will repair the car themselves. And the rates are not cheap either at £65/hr.So 11 months later I had a repaired car, after paying way more than originally estimated, imported by a shop unable to repair cars. No, the car was not "restored", not for £2500 for sure. Just the usual mechanicals, one welding, and one relay fixed.To leave 2 stars is being overly positive.
ShipMyCar brought my Camaro over from California to the UK at the end of 2015. The process was seamless (all done via email) and information updates via the portal were a nice touch. The car arrived in excellent condition and the modifications required for road legality and MOT appeared factory. They were happy to accommodate getting my private registration fitted and were flexible with pickup as I was coming over from Northern Ireland. If I ever import again, they will be my first call.
ShipMyCar were contracted to ship a car from South Africa to the UK.Quoted 12 to 16 weeks. Collection was some 30 weeks later.Communications was very poor throughout.From a web site which promises so much and delivers so little.The time for shipping and delivery was 3 times as much as quoted.Communications was very poor and required much prodding after each step failed to materialise.This in turn caused me to make multiple changes to my rota to be available for collect of the car, as each deadline changed.Made a journey down to Milton Keynes in Nov 18 to collect my goods and personal effects, as the car was no where near being available for collection.The car was not ready or accessible on arrival after being informed in advanced of my arrival date and timeAfter constant prodding as too progress, being informed the car was ready for collection in Feb 2019 and having 7 days to collect, after which time a daily GBP10 fee would be chargeable, a time and date was confirmed and still the car was not ready, the license plates were being fitted and the side window tint was being removed on the day of collection. After informing I would be collecting the car that day.Additions to the quote were added without communication.All in all a rather long and drawn out process which could have been better handled if the communication were all the was promised.Would not recommend for shipping your car.
It was my first time to encounter such a competent and efficient individuals. We used Shipmycar to bring over our vehicle from Brisbane to Milton Keynes and I must say I am shocked at how simple these guys made it for us!! They did EVERYTHING from arranging to collecting the vehicle to putting it on the road here in the U.K. The whole process took 3 and half months and we were able to follow every step, even to where the ship was by using their simple tracking system which we had access to with a log in. There were a few times where we had just the general nagging questions having never done this before but nothing was too small for the team to answer or assist with.
