We have been using SMTP2GO for five years. They consistently provide excellent service, handling our one million transactional and marketing emails per month. We switched from SendGrid during the pandemic, after their customer support became mostly unavailable. SMTP2GO, a small New Zealand-based company, had outstanding reviews on TrustPilot, which encouraged me to give them a chance. I have no regrets; those high ratings are well-earned.As a smaller company, they were flexible enough to make adjustments to their API and bounce processes based on my feedback, which is impressive.Their 24/7 customer service is responsive and technically adept. For more complex issues, they sometimes need to consult with their core development team in New Zealand, which might require an overnight wait due to the time difference.There were occasional network slowdowns in the past that were a bit frustrating, but those issues seem to have been resolved. I appreciate their transparency about system status, as they keep me informed of even the most minor hiccups.Most importantly, as SMTP2GO has grown, they haven't become less-responsive. That's unusual these days, as companies tend to get bigger and look to be more ultra-profitable. SMTP2GO has not weakened it's customer service at all in these five years.
My experience with SMTP2GO was extremely disappointing and frustrating.I paid $75 for a plan that included 100,000 emails and used less than 200 emails total. While simply integrating their SMTP with my website and testing their own spam filter features, my account was suspended without warning.They claimed it was due to bounce rate, but those bounces happened during internal testing, not real campaigns. No proper review, no fair explanation—just suspension after payment.From my experience, this service feels like a scam: take the money first, then suspend the account during basic setup. I did not abuse the service, did not send bulk emails, and did not violate limits.Because of this, I will be opening a dispute with my bank.🚨 Based on my experience, I strongly recommend people avoid SMTP2GO. If an email service can suspend a paid account during basic testing, it is not safe or reliable for real business use.
