At first glance, SoundCamps looks like a solid platform. The website design is clean and professional, and the idea sounds fair: you pay so playlist curators listen to your song and decide if it fits.
But my experience was really disappointing.
You can pay around $60 and only reach a maximum of about 6 to 7 curators, and still around 90% reject the track. That wouldn’t be the problem if the feedback felt honest and detailed, but many rejections come with ridiculous, overly picky reasons that don’t feel serious at all. Sometimes it feels like they didn’t really listen and just sent a quick copy paste style response. Some of the comments are also unnecessarily disrespectful.
Another big issue is that you can’t cancel a campaign once it’s running, which makes the whole thing even more frustrating.
Overall, the platform looks professional, but the results and the way feedback is handled make it feel more like a money making system than real support for artists.
I'm sharing my experience to help other artists avoid financial loss. After the service misdelivered my Pop/Trance campaign by sending my track to irrelevant, non-English, and mismatched curators, I escalated the issue to my bank under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Upon reviewing all evidence, such as: - mismatched curators
- non-English curators for an English campaign
- playlists that did not align with Pop or Trance
- irrelevant or automated reviews
- the service halting my campaign when I raised questions …my bank ruled in my favor. ✔ Section 75 Claim Approved $612 Refunded ✅️ The bank concluded that the service provided was not as described. This indicates that my case met the legal criteria for: - Misrepresentation, or
- Breach of contract Such outcomes are quite rare for digital services, but it demonstrates that the service's delivery did not match the advertised claims. 🚨 Important for Artists Disputes through payment platforms usually fail for digital services. However, if you paid using credit options, you can utilize Section 75 — and you may succeed, as I did. ⚠️ My advice to fellow artists If you care about your budget and well-being: - Do not trust the service to provide accurate genre targeting.
- Do not expect support when issues arise.
- Do not rely on payment disputes to safeguard your interests. Please take note of my experience and scrutinize campaigns thoroughly before spending your money. — A Concerned Artist
It’s hard to overstate how many promo scams and inflated “exposure” offers float around when you’re an artist trying to get your music heard. SoundCampaign stands out as one of the honest ones. It’s super simple. They handle the targeting and pitching so you don’t have to, and they do it well. The placements I’ve had through them have been solid. Unlike some other platforms I’ve tested, these playlists have actually stuck and remain top drivers in my stats today. The low upfront costs make it easy to test campaigns, and once you’re comfortable, scaling up through options like Facebook and TikTok exposure is quick and straightforward.Any unspent ad funds go straight back into your balance, which is a big plus. They offer nice campaign discounts for new releases.Their customer service is accessible and genuinely human. It’s been a fun and smooth platform to work with. Refreshing, honest, and actually effective.ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ~ Odball Panda ~
The engagement with this website is easy to manage especially for me not being too computer savvy. I like placement or not the responses from the curators. I am happy with the result being placed on quite a few playlists. I like that this company doesn't promise anything because that is the reality.
SoundCamps provides a fast, simple solution for those who have never attempted to promote their music before. Their curators provide detailed responses to submitted tracks to help you improve. I have seen quality engagement on both campaigns I have promoted through SoundCamps and will definitely use them again.
