I had a serious issue with SGT Auto Transport involving misrepresentation and an unauthorized charge.
I was verbally quoted a fixed price of $1,100 and told I could leave up to 100 lbs of personal items in my vehicle. When I later reviewed the actual shipping agreement, those terms were not included. The contract allowed re-quoting, prohibited personal items, and broadly disclaimed responsibility.
I explicitly refused to sign the agreement and sent written cancellation the same day, before accepting any terms. Despite this, SGT treated the order as “electronically signed” simply because I had entered my credit card information, which is not consent.
After reiterating by email and phone that I did not agree to the contract, SGT still charged my card $199 as a cancellation fee and refused to reverse it, stating there was “nothing they could do.”
The issue is not the money—it’s the practice of processing contracts without affirmative consent and charging fees after cancellation. I have filed a BBB complaint and a credit card dispute.
Based on my experience, I would advise others to be extremely cautious and ensure everything is documented in writing before providing payment information.
I even do not want to give one star. This company is doing trick to the customers. I signed the contract with them more than a month ago, but when the time that should come to pick up the car, they increase the price. The reputation and service are too bad, so do not waste time with them.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Pooooooor to little to no communication my car sits for pickup deposit paid. I’m calling daily no one answer no one calls back no help but they have my money!
I shipped two vehicles from LA to Cleveland during winter. The representatives and drivers provided outstanding service and maintained excellent communication throughout the process. I have transported my vehicle multiple times with the service. Each experience has been seamless and professional. Their pricing is competitive as well. They consistently follow through on their promises! My vehicle was always picked up and delivered as agreed. Being able to transport items with the car was an added bonus. Overall, I can't recommend this service enough! You won't be disappointed!
