This seems OK initially, fairly priced, confirmation came through quickly, but if you have a query it's impossible to get through on the phone and my email wasn't responded to. When I eventually spoke to someone 3 days before I was due to travel I couldn't amend my policy - I was told I had to cancel and take out another and wait 3-5 days for my refund.
I am quite happy with Southdowns, and their partner AXA Travel Insurance. I fell ill on a trip, paid for my expenses, got receipts for medication and for the medical consultation, which included an ICD code/medical report, and they refunded me the costs after charging a £50 excess. I think this is really good! I am just not giving a 5-star rating because I felt like I had to call AXA Travel Insurance multiple times to ask for updates, even when the case was stuck because there was information missing, and they just wouldn't let me know. To be fair, I also completely understand that they must have so many claims to process, and it may not be possible to fully digitalise their system to expedite things. Overall, I really recommend them, and I thank Jorge Alejandro for his help during the final steps of my claim!
