The let down of this policy is that it is underwritten by AXA. I claimed under the policy following air traffic disruption in August 2023. I claimed for my delay. AXA have never contacted me. I have rang them on multiple occasions and have constantly been told my claim is pending. I gave them every opportunity to say its not covered but they don't, even a year later. Southdown insurance was a very good price but going through AXA when you need to make a claim is when the going gets tough
I spoke with a young woman Natalie who talked me through the policy I wanted to take out, explaining everything - excellent member of staff with good communication skills. Trying to complete on line was cumbersome as it kept timing out & I knew it hadn’t gotten my details correctly - there should be a review section to allow prospective customers , online, to review the details they’re submitting, before submitting payment. Most purchasing on line allows this- shame this company doesn’t - this needs reviewed.
It was easy to set up the insurance online. However, the trip this week on 9th October to Isareal - was canceled - by the tour operator. Trying to contact them - to let them know - that the trip had been canceled - and to discuss possible options with them was impossible. I couldn't make a claim - since wars are not covered - but it would have been nice to have them say. Would could do this for you - for future insurance - when the tour operator re-schedules the trip - next year.
