I think the pre existing condition questionnaire is harsh, should be an opportunity for further discussion. The premium doubled becasue one of our travellers who is otherwise fit and healthy (very healthy) has had a diagnosis of high cholestorol which even though is under control still deemed as a high risk. Does not make sense.
If there was an option for 0 stars I would have rated them 0! We Travelled abroad in May 2023, My daughter fell ill and needed to attend hospital. She didn't need to be admitted thankfully but a number of test etc needed to be completed. This was at a cost of over £500. we paid for this upfront and were then advised to claim back on our travel insurance which we did. We completed a claim online. Provided hospital note, scripts, and invoices. No one replies to your emails. The customer service agents although polite can give you no details on the claim or when you can expect a decision. There has been zero communication from them. After possibly 10 calls we were advised we needed to provide our NHS history. No acknowledgement of receipt of this. Several calls later and still no further in getting our refund. The line to speak to the call centre is terrible. The line drops regularly and there is no call back even once you are on a call with an agent. Agents seem to just hang up. Service has been shocking and I would steer clear of this company even though they are affiliated with AXA.
