They encourage using ups and fedex to ship ashes which is illegal. The “experts” in this industry don’t even know the rules and regulations, this is all on their site to use other people outside usps?! I don’t understand why I can’t leave a normal review anywhere for this company it’s all hidden and edited by this company on their site. No Google page, no yelp. Bad bad experience. When you do further digging you see real reviews on outside sites about them!
This company thrives on taking advantage of grieving families. The dogwood tree is super expensive for the cheaply made disappointing item you actually receive. Definitely not like pictures . Total RIP off!! The sun catcher was broke when we received it . The urn necklace so cheaply made it broke while screwing it closed!! However the ring and hummingbird was very nice.
I had Spirit Pieces make a ring for me after my mother passed. They also made a glass sculpture after my beloved poodle, Sam, passed away. Both experiences have been seamless, with care taken to not only the detail of the pieces, but the process as well.
I've ordered glass flames from them before and had no issues with that artist however I spent over $500 on a feather ring. I ordered a size 6.5. It's a thicker ring and one end measured about a 7 and the other side measured a 6. How am I supposed to get a 6 to fit my finger that is a 6.5? Customer service has been horrible. They told me to take it somewhere to get measured. I don't have a jeweler close by so I ordered a sizing kit myself and I can see clearly that one end doesn't even hit the 6.5 mark. I don't care if one side is bigger since it's a thicker ring but both ends of the ring should AT LEAST be a 6.5. Got it measured only for them to tell me to send it back to them so they can measure it themselves. Whatever I send it off and they CONTINUOUSLY tell me it's the correct size. Either way it doesn't fit and they said they can do another one at a discounted rate like absolutely not why would I pay you for something you guys screwed up the first time. Go figure the ring cannot be resized and the experience has been absolutely dreadful. Now I understand why they have so many "reviews". probably fake reviews considering you can't review anything for yourself. Be careful what you order from them and be aware that if it turns out bad you're on the hook cause they take no accountability for their mistakes. For as much money as it is, I'm not sure it's worth it.
The reason for my 2 star review is the experience following the arrival of my piece. I was told there was ashes remaining from my loved one. I paid the fee to get them returned to me. After two months of back and forth, I was told my fiancé's ashes were lost or the card was marked in error. In either case, this carelessness is unacceptable. Remains of a loved one are precious and people grieving are especially sensitive and vulnerable. This experience is extremely upsetting. I'm sharing this so others can be aware, be cautious and choose better.
We ordered a total of 8 pieces from various artists. 2 were "dragons" that came in all derpy looking with 1 broken. 1 was an egg where color was way off so we tried to buy a replacement. When asked, Dave said they couldn't actually make it the color shown on the website. The flame looks different in person but she still liked it. The ring turned out very nice and the orb as well. The shot glasses were ok.The customer service was crap and I dint know how they have 20k 5 star reviews because there is no way for me to leave a review on their site for these items. 2k we spent and only half of us were happy with our items.
I ordered a pendant for my 11 year old niece who lost both her parents.. it was DISAPPOINTING to say the LEAST. It was not as shown and it took 2.5 months to arrive. 1. The item was NOT AS SHOWN2. The 6 week time line was definitely embellished.3. When I asked for customer service, they took NO ACCOUNTABILITY. 4. They are a shameful, deceitful company.
I ordered a large globe with enclosed ashes and it was to be inscribed "We Love You". No inscription was on the globe when I received it. I reached out to Spirit Pieces and was told they could send me an acrylic marker or take it to a trophy shop. For $275 it should have been perfect, what a joke! I would take my business elsewhere.
For those in grief...seek another company to offer you solace in this delicate time. In my opinion, the services offered by companies and artists to help in the grief process SHOULD be sacred and honored. David at Spirit Pieces has grossly mishandled a situation which has caused so much pain and disruption to an already upsetting situation. In short, a mistake was made in which I was sent another person's loved one's remains. Another person was sent my wife's remains. Mistakes happen, and maybe even things like this happen for other spiritual reasons. That's not the issue/problem in this story. This reason for this review is how David chose to handle the situation. It was horrific in my opinion, sloppy on his part, inconsiderate, and dismissive/aloof. It's not the mistakes that we make in life that matter, it's how we rectify those mistakes. David barely offered a generic apology and was inattentive about my concerns. His response to me was borderline rude and his meta-message was clear, that all I have to do is send back the other person's order, they'll send mine and we can forget about it and move on. This did not inspire confidence and left a bad taste in my mouth. He even at one point said "I didn't have to call you back, I did that as a curtesy". Not that money is a factor in delicate situations like this but he didn't offer anything to even attempt to make up for this very unsettling experience. I gave him multiple opportunities to be compassionate, understanding, and reassuring and he declined all of them. I'm very saddened to write such a review, but I felt it important to the public to at least warn customers who are compromised, hurt, vulnerable, and in need of sensitivity and professionalism. If you are looking for those things, then please pass by this company and look into the many other options available.
