I recently rented a Haval from here at Splend Canberra and today I signed a contract for rent to own vehicle. I am very happy with the service Mr Anish and his colleague Luke provided. Anish has answered all my questions and helped me every steps to be able to finally very satisfied with the Vehicle I will own in a year and a half. I can not thank Anish and his team enough for their extraordinary care and support.

I would advise caution when considering this service. The staff in the Melbourne office were generally friendly and polite, yet the behind-the-scenes support consistently did not meet the expectations set by the term 'full-service.' Be ready to understand your rights and assert them repeatedly — the initial process is smooth until you take possession of the vehicle, after which the focus shifts to fees and compliance. While mistakes can occur, the frequency and severity of the issues indicate a lack of emphasis on providing reliable service. Key challenges I faced include: * Unacknowledged notices and a complicated returns process: Written notices were submitted several times without any acknowledgment. The returns process involves multiple steps that are not communicated clearly, leading to confusion and unnecessary stress. * Conflicting repair guidance: The lease indicated that repairs should not be made, yet staff verbally directed me to perform certain repairs, leading to confusion and potential lease violations. * Unavailable vehicles: Once, an EV became non-operational due to a technical error. My requests to adjust the rent for the affected days were denied, causing wasted time and stress. * Incorrect fines: A fine of $4,000 was wrongly applied, which caused significant stress and required intervention for its removal. * Unpaid or unhonored discounts: Promised discounts were not correctly applied despite several follow-ups. Discounts used during the sale were refused in writing. * Incomplete insurance documentation: Necessary vehicle insurance documents were not maintained properly. I couldn’t access them through the app and had limited time to resolve the issue, creating operational risk. * Disputed cleaning fees: A cleaning fee was charged despite video evidence showing the vehicle was clean prior to return. The lease placed the responsibility on me to ensure the car was spotless, but there was no feasible way to guarantee this given weather and time constraints. In summary, while the staff were polite, the experience after taking possession of the vehicle was stressful, inconsistent, and did not reflect the 'full-service' leasing that was promised.

Concerning billing practices

This company seems to have questionable practices. Whether you complete your terms or not, they attempt to withdraw funds from your account. After months, they sent an invoice trying to charge my card without any prior notice. It’s baffling why they would issue an invoice after such a long time. I returned the vehicle and settled everything, yet they still tried to charge me after eight months. It’s hard to understand why I should be liable for this.

Disappointing experience in Melbourne

⭐️ 1-Star — My experience with this service has been very disappointing. They never communicated that the car had a loud beeper, which caused issues even after payments were made. The weekly cost is exorbitant without any ownership until the end of five years. Canceling early results in losing everything paid. Support has been lacking, and issues raised were ignored. Additionally, extra fees for additional drivers and fines only added to the frustration. Overall, the leasing plan felt expensive and stressful, and I would advise others to do thorough research before proceeding.

Avoid this service

The experience with this service has been terrible once signed up. Communication is nonexistent; emails go unanswered, and calls are screened. They focus on upselling and charge extra for missed payments. The onboarding process was poorly handled, and the vehicle I received was in unacceptable condition. They expected me to take it back dirty, and there was no guidance on operating the electric vehicle. Overall, the lack of professionalism and respect is alarming. I feel this business model is flawed and not customer-friendly.
