As a tutor on this website, I appreciate how everything is layed out very clearly with an extremely usable interface. There is no shady ranking systems which allows me to grow my tutoring business very clearly in a straitforward manner.
Awful, tutors do not respond and hidden fees. I have been charged £80 over 2 months to use the site and haven't had 1 lesson. When asked for a refund and to cancel my account. They simply said no and offered a month for free. DO NOT USE
I’ve had a really good experience using Superprof as a tutor. I’ve actually found a few lovely long term students through the platform, which has been amazing. The website feels easy to use to message clients and quite professional. Overall, it’s been a positive experience for me.

Charged an additional £78 and wasn't aware this was a monthly amount. Huge scam, stay away! They make it seem like an annual amount and email you to tell you its monthly, but this goes into spam.
How can you rip honest people off like this? In addition 99% of tutors who have a free lesson actually dont give you a free lesson, so that's also ridiculous!
Used the website to purchase a lesson for my fathers Christmas present. Scam website. I have now paid £78 for what I thought was a lesson but turns out is just access to their website. Feel completely ripped off and the worst bit my father has no lesson.
I signed up to Superprof believing the £39 payment was for tutoring sessions. The checkout wording strongly suggested this, especially phrases like “your card is debited only if the tutor accepts your request” and “first lesson is free”. In context, that reads as though the payment is connected to lessons, not a separate platform subscription.
Only after being charged did I discover that the fee is actually a “Student Pass” membership that simply allows you to contact tutors. No tutoring time is included. This was not clearly explained during the sign up process, and after some research I found many other users have made the same mistake.
When I raised this with support, they were polite but relied entirely on their Terms and Conditions, help centre pages and confirmation emails sent after payment. Their position was that because I received a tutor’s contact details, the service had been “used”, so no refund was possible. The only resolution offered was a free extension of the same subscription, which does not address the unclear sign up wording.
I also noticed a clear pattern in the reviews. There seem to be many positive reviews from tutors, while a large number of negative reviews from students describe the same confusion about the Student Pass. The imbalance in numbers does not add up. It gives the impression that tutors may be encouraged to leave positive feedback, or that the platform experience is heavily weighted in their favour while students face unexpected charges.
I expect companies to make charges obvious at the point of purchase, not buried in legal terms or explained only afterwards. Based on my experience, the payment flow is unclear and the response to complaints focuses on defending the process rather than resolving genuine confusion.
Some basic website, yes you can connect with people. My first time using it. It says first lesson is free but I tried arranging a date with a coach but it’s secretly making you pay for a subscription service of £40 to contact as many tutors as you want.
First of all that’s a pure rip off £40 a month just to contact people? It should be free or £10
I was under the assumption the £40 is for the booking but it’s not. Pure nonsense!
Support is just a joke too. Don’t even bother replying by giving your apologies and trying to sound nice on here.
If you can’t issue a refund. Goodbye.
Also to others, cancel that subscription cancer!
I have not really had many students come through. The platform needs to connect tutors with students more without having to pay premium. But they are offering a reward on a 5 star reviews on here!
As a tutor using the platform for about 3 years, I must say that it is very user friendly, reliable and great to use. I have found staff members to be very helpful and prompt in their response to queries. I definitely recommend using Superprof.
