I’ve used Swappie several times and, regarding the phones themselves, I have nothing negative to say. Every device I received was in very good condition, well packaged, and exactly as described. The refurbished quality has consistently been solid.

However, my experience with Swappie Care was disappointing. In my view, it feels misleading in how it is positioned. When you look closely at the terms and actually run the numbers, the financial benefit is far less attractive than it initially appears. For customers who carefully analyze the costs, it doesn’t really provide meaningful added value.

To be clear: I would recommend Swappie for their refurbished phones. But I strongly advise anyone considering Swappie Care to read the terms carefully and do the math before subscribing.

Delighted to sell my iPhone 11 (bought from them for €279) back to swappie, I was offered €90, but here’s the catch once they inspected it they then offered €8 ha ha ha ha ha ha what a great joke!
This could (allegedly) be the greatest scam ever!
I have requested a return without charges as I would rather give it away!

I bought a used iPhone here and was genuinely surprised – the condition is noticeably better than what the description promised. Could not see any scratches. It looks and feels basically like new. Very happy with this purchase – clear recommendation!

Thank you for your public reply, but it is important to clarify that what you wrote here does not match what you told me on WhatsApp.
Your private communication is completely contradictory and reveals a very different attitude from the one you are trying to present publicly.

1. You never asked me for proof of the device’s condition.
Contrary to what you claim here, at no point did you request photos, videos, or any evidence of my iPhone’s condition before shipping.
On the contrary: you repeatedly stated that “the evaluation is final” and that “the case is closed.”

2. You never mentioned any contact with DHL.
In the private conversation, there was no reference to an investigation, transport incidents, or verification requests.
Your public reply tries to create the impression that you are cooperating — but that simply did not happen.

3. Your private statements contradict your public version.
On WhatsApp, you claim that:

the phone arrived with a swollen battery,

a cracked screen,

a cracked back glass,

a damaged frame/antenna,

and that the IMEI was verified.

But you refuse to explain:

how you verified the IMEI on a device that does not power on,

how a completely destroyed phone has no marks on the frame,

how the frame is intact when mine had a very specific mark,

how the device you sent back has rusty screws when mine were in perfect condition,

how I received a box that is not mine,

and a label that does not match my IMEI or even my model.

None of this is coherent.

4. I have evidence and witnesses.
And contrary to what you imply, I am not making baseless accusations. I have:

Photos and videos of my iPhone at the moment of shipping

Witnesses from the shop where I dropped off the device

Witnesses from FNAC from the day before

The original box I sent (which is not the one I received)

The label I received, which does not match my IMEI

Clear physical differences between my device and the one you returned

Rusty screws on your device

The absence of the mark on the frame that mine had

All of this proves that the device I received back is NOT mine.

5. Your technical explanation makes no sense.
You claim that:

the phone was “completely broken,”

the battery was “swollen,”

the structure was “damaged,”

yet at the same time:

the frame is intact,

there are no impact marks,

and the IMEI was “verified” on a device that does not turn on.

This is not technically plausible.

6. You tried to shift the responsibility onto me.
You even suggested that I contact my home insurance (!), when the problem clearly lies with you.

7. Your public reply attempts to protect your image — but it does not match the facts.
Your private posture was:

evasive,

contradictory,

dismissive,

and showed no real intention to resolve the issue.

Conclusion
I once again ask you to indicate how I can submit all the evidence so that this situation can be handled with the seriousness it deserves.
Until then, I will continue to report what happened on all relevant platforms so that other consumers do not go through the same experience.

Disappointed with my recent experience.

I'm truly dissatisfied with my latest experience using the service. I sent in a phone that was in excellent condition and even took detailed photos to ensure its state before shipping. However, the company returned with a lower offer, stating that the device had scratches. These marks were definitely not present when I packed it, suggesting they occurred either during transportation or while the service was handling it. What adds to my frustration is that I chose this company based on its positive reviews. I honestly didn’t anticipate this situation. Sadly, my experience has left me feeling deceived and let down. I will not be using their service again and advise others to be cautious and document everything carefully before sending in their devices.

Disappointing experience with the device

I've owned this device for about a year, and while it worked well initially, problems started to arise after six months. Following a minor drop, the right side of the screen became unresponsive, displaying green lines. Shortly after, I discovered I couldn't turn on the phone because the volume down button got stuck from that same drop, and now the power button is also jammed. I cannot recommend this to anyone.

Purchased a smartphone with issues from the start

Acquired a smartphone with a new battery in May 2025. Almost right away, I noticed problems with the microphone; others couldn't hear me during calls, and the videos had noise due to the microphone. I sent it in for warranty repair, but it returned with the same issue. I would advise steering clear of this company!

Not a dependable option for selling a phone

I wouldn’t recommend selling your phone through this service. I listed a perfect 12 Pro Max with a full battery, initially quoted at 243€. However, after a week, they changed the quote to 180€, claiming the battery wasn’t original.

Phone failed within a year & Very poor service

Very poor service; I am starting to wonder if this is a scam. I ordered a phone that arrived broken. They 'fixed' it instead of replacing it, which I would have preferred, as I don't want a phone that was recently broken. They were also very difficult to deal with during the repair process. A year later, this phone has completely failed (internal hardware fault), and my warranty has conveniently expired. I would never purchase from them again, and a rating of 4.3 for a site with so many reviews (likely heavily modified to appear positive) speaks for itself in my opinion. There are many other competitors with better reviews — I am not satisfied.
