I'm not in the habit of writing poor reviews, but my experience with Swytchbike has sadly been very poor Indeed. It's disappointing, because I think the product is good, but their approach to selling and their wider business model is frankly unacceptable. I ordered a Max battery conversion kit and some accessories back in September 2025. I accepted there would be a few months lead time for the order. I had hoped to be fitting the kit to my road bike in late December 2025. It became clear though that there were issues when I started to check the progress of my order in late November and the date of delivery shifted to January, then February, then March 2026. I could also see from online forums that they had not delivered kits to folk who had ordered some time before me. So, in January I enquired about a refund, the AI bots were of little help, but I did eventually get a response from a human some days after my original query. the response was that I could have refund ( as is specified in the company's Policy). But nothing further happened. I then made a more formal request for a refund and got an AI Bot response that my request could not be processed but would be forwarded to a human. Some days later a got a response from a human offering me £30 discount and an accessory. My refund request being completely ignored. I thanked Swytchbike for the offer but asked for a refund for the 3rd time! I then went through the AI bot merry go round again and then on the 3 February received a message that my order would be cancelled and I would be refunded, but that it could take up to 14 days. The promised 14 days came and went with no refund and only then did I contact my credit card company. I did receive the refund after 18 days, but almost 2 months after my original request. What was really annoying was the relentless marketing e-mails the company continued to send out. I can only assume that their crowd funding business model needed more funds, so that those of us asking for a refund could be paid back! I’m not telling anyone not to order a swytchbike kit. But I wish I had read the reviews for this outfit first, my experience although poor, seems better than many as I now at least have my money back. To finish, this whole situation is a shame having seen friends modified bikes, I still believe it is a good product. But unless you can afford to have nearly £500 pounds tied up for months and months, I’d look for alternatives until they develop an ‘in stock’ business approach and better customer service.

Extremely disappointing service experience.

I had the most frustrating experience with customer service. I placed an order in October 2024 and was promised delivery by August 2025. However, I faced constant delays and received only automated email responses. I was misled about the delivery timeline and was told that changing parts would expedite my order. Ultimately, I had to cancel my order in January 2026 after being strung along for over a year and three months. I cannot stress enough how much I advise against ordering from them.

Disappointing experience with the service

Order number SW-5993185. Disappointing experience. As a previous customer, I feel completely alienated. Avoid at all costs! Delivery was months overdue. They continue to promote and collect payments despite a significant backlog in fulfilling orders. Customer service response is terrible; it can take weeks to hear back, if at all. I received an email on December 2 stating my order was canceled as requested and that a refund was issued, which could take up to two weeks to process. I have not received an official receipt or confirmation, and as of December 18, there is still no refund in my bank account. Today, I had to dispute the charge with my bank due to a lack of confidence that the refund will be processed. This situation is entirely unacceptable. I am in the US and noticed there are vendors listed on the website that carry their products. I might need to contact those vendors to warn them and obtain sales representatives' contact numbers if I don't receive my refund and a response soon.

Completely Disappointed with This Service

If I could rate this service lower, I definitely would. They shouldn't be in business as they take your money and leave you with nothing but excuses. There's no communication, no phone support, no resolution, and certainly no refund. This service is a complete joke, relying on an AI bot for customer interaction. I wish I had read reviews before wasting my time with this frustrating experience. If you want a hassle-free purchase, my advice is to look elsewhere.

UPDATE. If the seller is unwilling to provide a refund, you can report them to the appropriate authorities. You can also file a claim in court for breach of contract, based on the seller's failure to deliver or late delivery. If the goods arrive late, you must reject and return them before taking further action. In my situation, I received a chargeback on the second payment, but I still haven't gotten my initial deposit back. I reached out and set a 14-day deadline, but have received no response. I have reported this to the relevant authorities, and others should consider doing the same. I will pursue small claims to recover my remaining funds.

Completely untrustworthy.

They are completely untrustworthy. Perhaps this was a legitimate operation at one point; now it appears to be solely focused on profit for the owners before they close up shop. The excessive promotional emails I receive, paired with my delivery being significantly delayed and no responses from the support team, lead me to believe there’s no other explanation. I have no way to recover my funds.

Complete lack of integrity.

They exhibit a total lack of integrity. This may have been a legitimate company at one point, but now it seems to be just a scheme for the owners to profit before closing down. The constant promotional emails contrast sharply with my delayed delivery, and I've received no responses whatsoever regarding my order.

Unacceptable communication barriers

The lack of communication is completely unacceptable. The company has created a barrier that seems impossible to breach. After three months of attempts, I've only encountered an automated response system that fails to address my concerns. I was eager to receive my kit, but now I'm regretting my choice.

Non-functional product and poor customer service

While the product might be good, I can't confirm that since receiving my kit back in March. I've faced numerous issues, and the kit has never functioned properly. Despite following all troubleshooting steps and returning the bike for testing, the kit remains faulty. Customer service responds sporadically with no effective solutions, and now it seems the motor isn't working at all. Beware, if you encounter issues, you'll likely be left to fend for yourself while receiving a barrage of promotional emails.
