The service and staff are always fantastic at these events. The food was great - some courses more delicious than others, but all delightful experiences. The restaurant was done up with candles and it was atmospheric - however a little cold. Our table was also not the best - but guess it’s luck of the draw on timings and arrivals.
The chef was fantastic and shout out to Phoebe and Samantha who organised a special birthday treat for my partner.

Firstly, service and the hospitality staff used at the venue were wonderful, friendly and informative. They did a good job within the circumstances. That said, we were put on a not-so-great table because of a potential addition to another table, but then that late table were back to a two person so got the better option after all. The food was nice, but by no means equivalent to price points. Portion sizes small, and the flavour average. Had it been half the cost and more of an everyday lunch experience that's fine, but for the sell of a unique chef menu evening at a higher price point it absolutely did not meet the standard. Drinks wer very expensive ontop, and am glad we opted out of the wine package. The event has huge possibilities as an idea, but the quality is simply not there food wise.
Embarrassingly bad experience. Went for the first time last night in Banstead. The food was just weird, not creative, just weird. The lamb was good, every other course was laughable. We couldn’t wait to leave after the second course, which looked and tasted like the pasta sachets you ate at university. The first course was a whole tomato, stuffed with a creamed cheese, in a bath of sriracha sauce. Bizarre, and NOT tasty. Finished out of politeness. To top it off the wine pairing was laughably bad, every glass wasn’t just bad, they were atrocious After the second glass I asked not to receive any more and stuck with the cocktails. My friends continued and just got more and more confused at the ability to buy such awful wine. And utter waste of money. Don’t bother
Banstead, Thursday evening visit was a very disappointing experienceWe were lured in by promises of a premium dining experience, but what followed was a far cry from that. It left us feeling misled and genuinely let down. The greeting was anxious and the attention felt overbearing rather than helpful. In a venue advertising itself as premium, there should be calm, attentive service; instead, we encountered constant, unnecessary pressure. The wine selections seemed bargain-basement and not thoughtfully matched to the courses. It felt as though cheap wines were passed off as proper pairings, which was alarming and deeply disappointing. The food was decent enough in isolation, but plates arrived cold or tepid and appeared to have sat in front of the kitchen for too long while staff stood around chatting. This undermined any sense of care or craft. The candlelit mood (if that was intended) felt unsettled, and the room was cleared while some guests were still finishing their desserts. It gave a rushed, chaotic impression rather than a refined experience. It was a very disappointing evening that failed to meet even basic expectations of value and service. The reality was not just short of premium; it felt deceptive compared with the branding.
My partner and I went to The sea The sea in Crouch End. We love seafood, really looking forward to this experience. The service and layout was very nice. Food was shocking, stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Oysters and passion fruit. Ghastly! Very disappointing. Spent £400 on an evening for 2 and left hungry.
Reasonably priced and fun concept. We had Marios Milios at Tooting. 6 courses and a cocktail for £85 I think is a fair deal. Portions are decent and you won’t get home hungry for an average appetite person. Some dishes are creative and we loved the monkfish. It is a great idea to pop up at otherwise underused cafes in London.Staff were professional, dishes were good and well priced. We will probably try again some other chef at some stage.
Tommaso have been an amazing host and Victoria have taken very good care of us during dinner. Chef Marta's menu was excellent, an explosion of taste, a bold re-invention of some traditional Italian (regional) dishes! We really enjoyed getting to know her too: when she came out to say hi she was great fun and very approachable! Well done everybody!
Had a lovely evening at the T&C evening with Marta Sandini.Food was super tasty and unexpected and we were very well looked after by the smiley Victoria and Tommaso. We had the chance to have a chat with Marta, who is clearly very passionate, talented and a really bubbly person.
