Review Time
I’ve been using TestingTime as a participant and I’m very satisfied. The registration process is straightforward, communication is clear, and you always receive all relevant information in advance. The studies themselves are interesting and professionally organized. What really matters to me is that the compensation is fair and payments are processed reliably and on time. Overall, a very trustworthy platform that I can definitely recommend to anyone interested in participating in paid studies.
Testing Time is a reputable company, and I really enjoy taking part in their tests. It’s especially interesting because you get insights into new technologies and current developments. The test partners I’ve worked with so far have always been friendly and polite. You don’t earn large amounts of money, but as a source of extra pocket money, participating is definitely worthwhile.
Misleading paid surveys – no compensation after data submission
I completed two surveys advertised as paid (between 15€ and 20€ each).
In both cases, I provided personal and profiling information.
During the surveys, I reached a page saying something like “you may not be the right tester”, but I was still allowed to continue the survey. There was no clear message stating that I was disqualified, no confirmation of data deletion, and no clear way to return safely to the homepage.
In the end, neither survey was compensated. One was completed about a month ago, the other several weeks ago. No payment, no clear explanation.
Most of my basic information was already collected at account creation, and additional information was collected during the surveys — yet there was no compensation for the time, attention, or data provided.
This practice feels illegitimate and misleading: paid surveys should clearly stop before collecting data if a participant is not eligible, or clearly compensate partial participation.
I am posting this to inform other users so they can decide whether participating is worth the risk.
I've had a wonderful time participating in studies for a unique service recently; it’s a fantastic way to earn a little extra income from home while assisting others. It may take some time to qualify for a study, but the rewards seem fair, and the experience is genuinely enjoyable.
I've truly enjoyed participating in studies for an intriguing service recently; it’s a pleasant way to earn some extra income from home while helping others. It may take a bit of time to qualify for a study, but the incentives seem fair and the overall experience is quite enjoyable.
I spent time filling out a form to supposedly qualify for an interview that was supposed to pay 50 euros (Seriously! Who would pay that? :D You could just post a 10-15 euros announcement at any campus.). My information has been collected for free, and my time has been wasted. Edit: Appreciate the response. However, I don’t understand why data isn’t collected before notifying participants. Then it would be saved, eliminating the need for repeated qualifications.
We utilized the service to find test participants for our on-site usability assessments. They quickly identified suitable candidates based on our criteria within the timeframe we set. We received prompt and effective support whenever we encountered issues during the study. I would confidently use them again for future research projects.
User tests are not abundant or available daily on the platform, and you might not qualify for several initially. However, when they do become available, applying is straightforward. As long as you act quickly (first come, first served), you should find a suitable test or study each week. I've completed five studies so far, mostly face-to-face interviews discussing my experiences, testing websites, or performing tasks on offline apps in real-time (lasting 30 minutes to 1 hour). I've also taken part in remote online studies where I complete tasks unmoderated, which take a maximum of 10 minutes. After successfully completing the tests and client confirmation, payment is received (about a week later, as stated) - no hassle involved. I've never had to chase for payments; they are credited to my account as promised, and I receive notifications about payment status. The communication is excellent, keeping me informed about new studies to apply for, client approvals, and when funds are ready for withdrawal. This works perfectly for me as a side gig, and I genuinely enjoy participating in these tests, as it allows my honest feedback to shape future products.
