Review Time
Went to Outpost in Sheffield for the first time yesterday with some nerd-buddies for a day of playing 40K.
I am a paraplegic in a wheelchair and so from past experience of supposedly “accessible” places, I thought I’d reach out to the outpost staff in advance through their Facebook page.
Chap called Dan replied and honestly couldn’t have been more accommodating. He reserved me a disabled parking space and allocated one of our gaming tables (think we had 3-4 reserved) to one of the lower tables in the bar area which was perfect height for me in my chair (legs don’t work… can’t stand up!)
On arrival, my space was reserved right outside the front door… I approached said door with in my wheelchair with my carry-case on my lap and straight away someone came and offered to carry my army for me so I could push myself through the door threshold without the risk of dropping everything… Just a really nice gesture.
The place is genuinely awesome. I’m not just saying that, this is my first trip advisor review… so that should tell you something! Has a HUGE amount of stock in the shop area and is spacious and open so no awkward isles to wheel through knocking things off shelves (this is an almost daily occurrence for me… coz clumsy) most importantly though is of course the accessible toilet… This is often what makes or breaks a venue. The Outpost has a HUGE accessible toilet, plenty of room to move round in a wheelchair and actually has the flush handle in a place you can reach! I know things like this may seem daft to some people, but as a full time chair user, these things matter!
Staff were super friendly and accommodating. We got our tables all set up with game-mats and terrain… We were shown to the lower accessible table, but as a group, so I didn’t feel singled-out. OBVIOUSLY my mates are a bag of dicks and so made jokes about me needing “the kiddie-table” but can’t blame Outpost for our degenerate group!
The outpost have a great selection of food, snacks and hot/cold beverages (most importantly ice cold Monster)
And again, I can’t overstate how great the staff were… Couldn’t do enough for us as a group and for me being in my chair.
Towards the end of our day, Dan came and approached me just to ask how our day had gone and if we had been looked after… again, he didn’t have to do that, was a really nice gesture and you can tell that the staff actually care about EVERYONE having a positive experience in their store.
I’ll be going back ASAP.
Cheers lads,
Danny.
This company is fantastic, located in the north. I experienced no issues with delivery or customer service, which is courteous and responsive. My only minor concern is that you can't check item availability on the website until you click on the product, making it somewhat cumbersome to search for popular items compared to other platforms.
I genuinely enjoy using this platform, as it has become my main online destination for everything related to tabletop gaming. The prices are great, the stock levels are impressive, and the dispatch is quick—what more could I ask for?
