Review Time
Unfortunately, I’ve given Dave and TBC the benefit of the doubt for far too long and now it’s gone too far. I’ve been patient and kind for months and months, but it’s clear now that Dave doesn’t care about the stress and upset he is causing those around him.
Dave owes both charities and partners money, and has made up multiple excuses to avoid paying this. This has been going on for a very long time, which led to a lot of partners leaving last year and setting up on their own to try and recoup some of the lost money.
He has sent members late night messages offering them erratic deals/special offers when it’s clear he is just trying to get a quick injection of cash for whatever reason.
He has had dozens of excuses which are ever-changing and then turns it all back on the person asking for the money they’re owed.
When I said I was going to take it further he basically then said we wouldn’t get paid back or if we did it would be a very small payment plan, basically telling us the money he owes us is lost.
Dave needs to pay everyone what is owed and close down the business as it is not viable. He preys on the goodwill of others and plays the victim constantly so you feel as though you can’t do or say anything.
Enough is enough, it’s not fair on all the people who are owed money, who you’ve cost money, who have given your their time and trust, and those who have gone through constant stress and upset in the name of your ‘business.’

I was a relative newbie to networking when I joined and found that David puts so much energy into his networking groups, I'm now in two of his groups. He carefully connects people if he feels they will work well together and I have doubled my investment so far with the connections made. The meetings are well structured but not regimented, its a relaxed and fun atmosphere where everyone is welcomed. A bonus is the donation thats made to charity from every members subscription
Phenomenal networking group. I belong to a couple of the clubs across two counties and it paid for itself (annually!) in referrals within the first 2 months and so particularly impressed. Very causal but beneficial feel with no pressure and a genuine group of business leaders who want to help one another succeed. Would highly recommend attending.
I’ve come in to The Business Clubs as a complete novice to business but since being part of the Ifield Cricket Group I have learnt so much and feel part of a genuine community and support network. The Business Clubs is so much more than just getting business referrals!
I’ve just had someone get in contact with me who’s been through the same thing I did with Dave and it’s made me realise he’s been doing the same thing for years just moving across Kent to do it under different business names.Same pattern every time - sets up a club and promises loads of money for charities and sports clubs etc, then has ‘bookkeeping’ problems, the money disappears and he ‘holds his hands up’ that he made a mistake and promises to pay everyone back. This keeps his members holding on because they think he’s just a nice bloke who’s had a tough time but he’s king blagger.Why do you think he texts people asking them to pay into his personal account late at night? Saying his car has broken down or he needs money for petrol.Unfortunately he’ll probably always get away with it because he’s king of the blags, he shouldn’t be allowed to run a business.And what happened to the go fund me for all those sports clubs mate? Look up his name and all his many businesses before you do any business with him!
Well run, full of energy and rapidly growing. I like networking (of course) but what I don't like is having to spend 3hrs a week and spend a large amount on membership fees per year.The Business Club also pours 25% of each clubs membership fees back into the host venue e.g. local sports club, community centre, school. It is a great initiative and just one example of how Dave is creating something different with TBC.Get involved.
