The Dishonest Kitchen

First time customers-third of the Chicken small bites Whole grain Chicken and Oates formula kibble was dust -not safe for any dog to eat choking dust or extremely small pieces…contacted customer service gave all requested info to them and never heard from them again! We then requested a refund and radio silence…I guess they really don’t care… we changed food immediately and will never purchased from The Dishonest Kitchen.

Charged for food I didn't order.

There was a glitch in their system, which resulted in them charging my card and shipping me 2 orders I did not place. I emailed them immediately when I got the emails of orders being placed. They said they would try to cancel them. Then I got emails that the orders shipped. Now they are trying to get Fed ex to return them to them instead of sending them to me. But they refuse to refund me until they have the packages in their warehouse. It's ridiculous that I'm out a couple hundred dollars now because of their mistake. Good customer west I've would refund immediately and then deal with THEIR mistake. I will not be ordering their food any longer.

Great food but changes in recipes

I have been purchasing the Honest Kitchen Dog food for over 15 years for many of my babies. I recently purchased Grain Free Fish Dehydrated dog food along with Grain Free Turkey dehydrated. Both of them had very hard pieces of potato, fruits and veggies. I believe they changed their recipes. I'm not sure, but I have never encounter this. I did reach out to them and I was told that nothing changed. They were king enough to send me replacement boxes which I appreciated but they to had hard pieces. If nothing has changed why all of a sudden certain pieces are hard. I have tried to grind them before adding warm water to it but still very hard. I noticed the food now in my dogs poops which tells me he is not digesting the food any longer. I'm so sadden and disappointed by this. Honest Kitchen what is going on?

What happened to HK?

We have Labradors and have fed Honest Kichen for many years from various sellers. When my Labs quit eating the bone broth, gravy toppers AND the dehydrated food (base & w/meat)... there is something wrong. There was no odd smell... they just back away from their bowls...?I tried to call to talk to them, emailed and got generic answers. I canceled all of my auto ships. And, donated what i had to a local shelter... with a note about our experience. We are sad it came to this.

What have they done to the bone broth…

What have they done to the bone broth bites. Dog no longer likes them. They look different…color wise and texture wise. He spits them out now.

milk had a rotten smell

I have been buying The Honest Kitchen CAT BLEND INSTANT GOAT'S MILK from various sellers for a long time and have never had any problems with quality and shelf life. But now I received an invitation from TheHonestKitchen to buy this milk with a 50% discount and I bought 10 canisters in the expectation that it will last for the next 10 months. When the milk arrived, I found that the expiration date expires in 2 months. I opened one can and the milk had a rotten smell. ORDER 200000508277 Placed on September 6, 2023. The fact that the shelf life of milk expires has not been indicated anywhere. Before buying, I also called customer service, said I was taking a lot, but I was not warned about the expiration date. The Honest Kitchen refused to exchange milk for non-spoiled milk, motivating “the product you purchased was placed as a discounted rate as part of our summersale.....we are unable to proceed with an exchange or a refund". Please see the attached screenshot of this product, where no clear information concerning the expiration date. I believe that this is a deliberate deception of buyers in order to sell spoiled products. Looks like, it was stored in a warm place by the seller.I complained to BBB and got a response from Honest Kitchen. They agreed to replace the only one canister. The packaging says “we offer a 100% money back guarantee".It seems that the real name of this company is “Dishonest Kitchen".

Great food

First off, this is the second review for The Honest Kitchen and the first review gave it 5 stars so how can the "total" be 3.7 stars? Anyway, we've used Honest Kitchen for a number of our dogs over the years and all except one really liked it. Our current two pups can't wait for meal time but I give them kibble topped with Honest Chicken dehydrated in order to reap the benefits of both. The preparation takes a bit of getting used to but I make up a decent-sized batch and refrigerate what's left for up to 2 days. Works for us.
