I can only give one star for the taste of the food at the Edinburgh location. We ordered the moussaka, but neither I nor my four friends could identify it as the dish we expected. The topping resembled a jelly-like substance that was meant to be cheese, lacking flavor and having an odd, gelatinous texture rather than a creamy sauce. There was also no distinct taste of aubergine. The Greek salad had minimal cheese, and the chicken skewers were both flavorless and poorly textured. Despite being a group from various backgrounds, none of us enjoyed the meal. On a brighter note, the team there was polite and friendly.
The restaurant is clean, quick, and has a fantastic menu. I look forward to dining here every time! My favorite is the moussaka with extra feta cheese on the side or the pork gyros. Next time, I plan to try the slow-cooked pork with dates and beef stifado, plus they offer numerous gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options along with delightful desserts! I visited the restaurant in the city center yesterday, and the food was disappointing. I ordered two vegetable moussakas, which arrived on cold plates, looked and tasted like a cheap, processed meal. The chips were frozen and the halloumi fries were just a greasy mess. The wine was unpleasant. I understood why the place was nearly empty. This was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time, especially since it was a birthday celebration. I couldn't have asked for a worse meal. Definitely not a real Greek experience!
Our experience here wasn't the greatest. One starter was forgotten, and when my meal finally arrived, it was accidentally dropped. The replacement came after most of the table had finished eating, and I wasn't warned that the skewer was very hot, resulting in a burn. My friend's meal also arrived at different times, leaving the meat cold by the time the rice came. While the staff were polite, we were told the delays were due to being busy. They offered to remove the service charge and one starter from the bill, but when I paid, the staff member had an attitude, adding to the disappointment. Overall, I wouldn't return.
Absolutely unacceptable. The service was slow despite the restaurant not being busy. The serving sizes were tiny. I ordered the beef stew, which had a Greek name but tasted like canned stew. It came in a bowl the size of a teacup and was lukewarm, with just four small chunks of beef for £13. I will never return and will advise others to avoid it.
I recently visited this location and have always enjoyed it. The staff are friendly, but the menu has changed and it's not the same. For instance, they no longer serve rice, only fries, which is disappointing. It feels like the menu has been reduced.
The restaurant offers good food but it’s quite pricey. While the quality is evident, the prices don't align with the experience. This was the most expensive lunch I've had, plus a 10% service charge. They need to determine whether they want to be a special occasion place or a regular spot. I enjoyed my meal, but felt the cost was excessive for what we received.
I requested an outside table for my partner, who is deaf, as it would be quieter. I was told no because the tables had just been cleaned and were damp, which seemed odd since the chairs are easily wipeable. This showed poor customer service and a lack of empathy for a disability. The noise inside makes it hard for someone with hearing issues to enjoy their meal.
