The staff at Thomas Brown Estates

The staff at Thomas Brown Estates are extremely helpful and very professional. They have made the process of selling my home stress free. I can't stress enough how amazing Helen from Sales progression is. She is one of the most helpful and professional people I have had to deal with. She helped me understand a lot of the process and dealt with some difficult people on my behalf. She is an absolute asset to the company and would highly recommend Thomas Brown Estates to anyone I know wanting to sell their property.Thank you all so much for all your help, I really appreciate it.

Does the job but terrible experience

Thomas Brown does get the job done as required and will keep on top of things but the reason for the poor experience is due to the company trying to take advantage of us and on a few occasions lying about certain things. We were first time buyers so everything was very new, we were relying on the kindness of people in this company to help us understand the process. Our first horrible experience came from an individual who after our offer was accepted tried to tell us why we should do things (financial wise) in house at Thomas Brown without telling us all of the facts. Our bank actually told us the full truth and when I went back and said we will be doing the mortgage with our bank was told that part of the agreement of accepting the offer (according to the sellers) was that we did everything in house. This was an absolute lie and was confirmed at the end of the purchase when we met the owners who stated they said no such thing. The individual involved wanted the commission. We got it right at the time and stood our ground and stayed with our bank. After this stress we had further problems from another individual. We were led to believe that people were waiting for us to sign the contract so we ended up in one day receiving our documents and reading everything about the house we were buying and signing to give back. This was unnecessary and rushed for us with a lot of stress involved as further up the chain no one was ready while we were led to believe we were the last. The final nail in the coffin so to speak was choosing a date of completion. We were renting and explained we had to give two months notice. We were pushed by the same individual who said they were confident that the contracts would be exchanged in time for the completion date agreed. If this was true we would have to give our notice before exchange had taken place. This individual didn't tell us to give notice but led us into a false sense of confidence as they clearly wanted the sale to go through. Of course the exchange didn't take place and we were looking to be homeless. After many weeks of stress the problem higher up in the chain we didn't know about was sorted, but we were assured by this individual at the time that everyone knew we had to give 2 months notice. Once we met our seller we found out they had no idea we had to give 2 months and thought it was only 1 month.Overall Thomas Brown will get the job done as they advertise but be cautious if you're a first time buyer as they will take advantage of your lack of knowledge. One final piece of advice I would give is after your initial offer has been accepted make contact with your buyers or sellers as you are more likely to get the full truth from them.------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear Mr. Thomas;Unfortunately I am not able to respond to your reply in here so I had to edit our first review instead.I have emailed Helen in the office requesting for you email address so I can forward emails proving to you some of the things we stated in our review. I was told by her that she would forward my email to you. By all means if you would like to receive the emails I am talking about, feel free to contact us. For some of the other issues reported, I am sorry we will not be able to present you with written records once most of the conversations happened over the phone. Finally, we were surprised by the lack professional standards and the poor management especially with regards to our online review as one would expect that companies such as yours would care about client's statements and experiences more seriously in order to improve customer service.By all means we do not wish to continue a discussion about what went wrong and what went right as we are very happy with our new home and moving on with our lives. We sincerely wish that other clients have a much better experience than us and we hope that our review will help you with that.Your sincerely,Miss Barbaro & Mr. Kensit

They found a buyer very quickly but due…

They found a buyer very quickly but due to a lease attached to the house it all fell through @ Rutland Way. Helen was amazing, trying to find a solution and she really is a credit to Thomas Brown. I would not hesitate to use this agent again.
