Review Time
I order through toast for the first time, from the same restaurant I ordered from multiple time through other services, we’ll leave them unnamed, all because it was the preferred app, I ordered a large pizza with ground beef. My pizza arrived on time, but the driver clearly drop the pizza at some point in time as the toppings were completely displaced, like in the corner of the box and not on the now tomato pie. The only reason for the one star is due to the refund that toke an additional 20 mins to get!
As a small business owner, I was excited by everything the representative claimed this service could offer. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the most costly mistake for my business. The processing fees were outrageous, and there were additional monthly charges for basic features like loyalty programs and online ordering. Everything came with a price, and I ended up losing a significant amount of money using this POS system. A more affordable option like another service would have saved me around $400 a month and provided a better experience.
The customer service is very disappointing, and they refuse to send a technician to my business. It's been three weeks, and I'm still waiting for a resolution. I'm seriously considering switching to a new POS system because this one is ineffective. Avoid this service.
I placed an order through a restaurant that uses Toast, but when I realized I needed to cancel, there was no way to do it through their system. I called the restaurant directly, and even they couldn’t cancel it—they said Toast controls that process.It’s extremely frustrating that Toast doesn’t allow customers or restaurants to cancel an order quickly and easily. A basic feature like cancellation and refund should not be this difficult. This experience has made me think twice about using Toast for future orders. In fact I recommend that restaurants don't use them as a 3rd party.
We switched to Toast recently and the whole experience has been hugely disappointing from start to finish. The customer service is beyond awful. The install was far from perfect, however one of the biggest issues has been trying to generate reports that we can have confidence in. In particualr, we have been attemtping to generate a report that accurately provides information on sales and taxes due to Revenue. NOBODY has been able to advise definitively on this. One report seems to conflict another and when you seek guidance, the answers tend to differ each time. Our point of contact is completely unresponsive. We are now seriously considering leaving Toast and we have only had it less than two months.
