Review Time
One of my dogs premium was nearly doubled in the first month I had coverage. The only claim I ever filed was denied on a technicality despite paying for the best plan available. I cancelled all three dogs immediately. I highly suggest you never use them.
We forgot to remove our puppy off of Trupanion coverage (about a year ago) and needed to change payment from a credit card to bank account. Lisa helped me out over the phone on how to change payment type. I asked her to not worry about reimbursing us and she gave us back pay for 60 days. Very considerate! Thank you for your professionalism and great service!
Smartest choice I made in trusting Trupanion as my pet insurance company. Three dogs, one with allergies and arthritis, one with lymphoma and one with car sickness! Covered by Trupanion on all medical expenses and I only pay 10% of the cost when taking them to the vet for injections, chemotherapy, medications and more. I also like the fact that your veterinarian can bill Trupanion up front rather than submitting the claim yourself. It saves so much and I'm truly grateful for Trupanion's coverage. Highly recommend!
Paid for 2 months at $100+ each month for them to take their time getting records and reviewing them only to tell me they wouldn’t cover future joint issues because my dog had a torn toenail in the past causing him to limp. I could appeal and have the vet to call to explain while I continued to pay the monthly fee waiting on their decision. I do not recommend this company at all for anything, they are only after your money!
Canceled policy with one month noticed and offered 50% price increase with less coverage instead.
Especially problematic because it's impossible to find a new insurance that covers the dog immediately.
Terrible service! Absolutely unacceptable. I will keep posting negative reviews. They owe me a credit of $125, but mistakenly refunded another customer's card. They admit their mistake but refuse to fix it. The support team is rude and even threatens to cancel your policy. They know they have the upper hand, using the threat of policy cancellation as a way to silence you.
You consistently answer the phone quickly whenever I have a question. You've been assisting me for over seven years with my dog. Your team is always friendly and knows exactly how to address my inquiries. I've never encountered any issues with the service. I recommend it to all my husband's clients when they mention getting a dog. He promptly advises them to sign up. You won't regret it.
This company has been unable to process our payment correctly, continually attempting to charge our Amex even though they don't accept it and have our Mastercard on file. I cannot recommend them. It's better to take your business elsewhere.
Do not recommend, claim denied! I purchased a policy for my puppy, and just a week later he fell ill after eating something inappropriate. They classified this as an 'injury,' yet my claim was rejected because of a 30-day waiting period for illnesses. They didn't even take the time to investigate the situation, which they acknowledged. Our pets are family, and I wouldn't want to work with an insurance provider that either neglects their responsibilities or looks for excuses to deny claims. We seek insurance for reassurance, and this service did not deliver that. Perhaps a name change is in order.
