We were recommended Trusted House Sitters by my sister. We went on holiday overseas for a week and our two rescue kittens (just over six months old) were looked after by Laura. We found Laura to be pleasant, warm , friendly and personable when we met. She kept us updated with pictures of the cats and responded promptly when we messaged. Laura looked after our house and it was immaculately clean on our return. We would be pleased to have Laura look after our kittens on future occasions and highly recommend her
As a sitter THS is so hard to deal with.
The chatbot is too basic and when you do get to a human they are incompetent.
They either take to long to reply and then giving useless and inaccurate information.
This is the consequence of selling out to Private Equity firms....

It's a nice platform, but it's not really considerate of the sitter and their pets. There's no way to filter by sites that allow you to bring your pet. Also, house/pet owners often feel entitled to sitters time and the process often doesn't feel like an equal exchange.
Trusted petsitter is a great service for the pet parent and the sitter. We have been using them for several years and we love it. We are thinking we may later do it on the other end and try sitting when we retire.
Sarah and Scott came to house sit for us Mid February this year whilst we were away in other parts of Europe. We had conducted a video call with them about 4 weeks before and we felt that their ability and enthusiasm would fit well with our needs.
On the agreed day they arrived at the agreed time. We introduced them to the SOP book (Standard Operating Procedures) that list in some detail the house systems, then we took them on a tour of the property and buildings, explained the areas that might need attention and daily care. Sarah and Scott were enthusiastic to understand the heating (pellet fired under floor heating), water softener, photovoltaic power system and refilling the water tanks, if necessary, from our artesian well. They showed interest in all the nuances of the systems and we felt we could leave the house in good hands.
During our trip they messaged us with questions, any problems, and most importantly, updates on our cats. The cats evidently felt they were in much better hands than when we are in residence and were affectionate and well behaved. Despite heavy rain over our trip there were minimal problems and we arrived back to a clean and happy household.
We understand that Scott and Sarah saw all that they had hoped to in the area and were happy with their decision to housesit for us.
We would recommend Sarah and Scott to all.
We used TrustedHousesitters (oh, the irony of the name) two years ago, and I have not been able to cancel my membership despite multiple contacts and multiple promises. Just today, they told me that they couldn't do anything about the fact that they had again charged me and suggested that I dispute it with the bank, which I have done... But I did that last year. So now I have to do this every year? Disgusting.
We needed a sitter at the last minute and Trusted Housesitters came through! We were able to head off on our trip without having to worry about the house or dog. We came home to a very clean house and happy pup!

I had such a wonderful housesitting experience at the end of 2025. The people whose house and cat i was looking after were so kind and helpful, making my time in the area (Lewes) so authentic. Can't wait to book my next stay further afield this time!
