I have had ESET for many years. It alerts when there is questionable website links or automatically prevents Hacking penetrations. The only issue I have had is that my IMAC backup drive cannot seem to fully run to make periodic backups. I checked this out and it appears that the ESET firewall prevents the backup drive from fully functioning. ESET has info on it’s website on how to alleviate the issue by identifying the backup drive so that the firewall allows it to run, however, the ESET work-around is somewhat convoluted and not easily accomplished. This should be fixed to make it user-friendly to easily allow a designated backup drive to be able to periodically perform backups. As it is, I gave up with the ESET instructions and instead unplugged my backup drive and resigned to manually disable the ESET firewall when I manually decide to use the backup drive.
