Barely a 2 star. I’ve been with US Bank for prob 10-15 years. Not ONCE as a loyal customer would they help me with anything !! I mean NOTHING. They said no to Car loan. They said no to a simple 500.00 loan to help me at a bad time. Not a God Damn thing ! Do NOT use this bank where loyalty gets you NOTHING!
worst ive experience. they charge me late fee on a duplicate transaction I was eventually refunded by the service provider but the dispute department marked my account for fraud and ruined my perfect credit score. they are criminals and DO NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS WELL
Lied about Balance Transfers. I was told that I would get 0% for year and half but turns out... what they don't tell you is... your 0% gets paid off first because of their policy payment method which is lowest apr first then highest apr last. If this was told in their letters they send with those 3 checks I wouldn't have submitted it. The customer service representative was trying to upsell me another Balance Transfer offer which I declined. Really? not a smart move from this company.
Extremely poor customer service. I have been a customer for over 17 years and have literally run millions of dollars through U.S. Bank. I recently signed up for a business account due to a promotion where I needed to complete a certain number of qualifying transactions in order to receive a $400 bonus. I followed all of the directions to the best of my ability, and even called U.S. Bank to follow up and make sure that everything has been done correctly. Several months later, when I had still not received the bonus, I called and found out that I had only completed four out of five qualifying transactions, despite having completed 12 transactions. I spent over an hour on the phone as neither myself or the U.S. Bank representative could figure out why my transactions didn’t qualify. This was a promotion that was clearly set up to fail. As I escalated this complaint again through 8 follow up calls back and forth, despite my large history of business and current time wasted, they respectfully told me that I was out of luck. I will be removing all of my business from U.S. Bank, as this customer service and misleading promotions are significantly different than most other financial institutions I’ve dealt with. This time it cost me $400, but next time it could cost me far more.
I regret to inform you that my experience with your institution has been nothing short of abysmal. I just ended a call during which I was informed that there were 4,000 calls in the queue. Over the course of the last three hours—from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on February 11, 2026—I was placed on hold for a cumulative hour, with no meaningful resolution.
This is, without exaggeration, the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I took a hard inquiry and subsequent credit hit to open this account, only to find the product unusable and the support infrastructure completely overwhelmed. I closed my account in under five hours of opening it.
The representative I spoke with was openly rude and sounded visibly aggravated—toward a new customer. That level of unprofessionalism is both sickening and inexcusable.
To compound matters, your digital platform is sluggish and the credit limits extended are disproportionately low. I came to your bank frustrated with Chase; after today, you have somehow made me genuinely grateful for both Chase and Capital One.
I strongly urge any consumer considering this institution to steer clear. This was an absolute failure across every touchpoint.
Definitely the worst bank I’ve ever had to deal with. I can’t make any irregular transactions, I can’t take more than $200 out of my account, and their customer service is absolutly terrible. I’ve been transferred 3 separate times and now have been on hold for 41 minutes all because I’m trying to order something online and I guess it’s too “big” of a purchase. What a joke.
Recieved a check from a company that uses u.s. bank. Nobody will cash it. Called costumer service to ve told the only way is to drive 300 miles to the nearest branch to cash it. Asked for someone above them and was rejected and hung up on. I didnt use foul language and wasnt yelling. Heavy accents and you can hear tge below 90 iq behind the phone. So now I got a dud check and they dont seem to care at all.
Without contacting me they closed my account and refused to explain. Said I would have to wait for a letter to come in the mail. Was told to go to a branch and I would be able to get my money with no problem. I then had to talk to the branch manager, who said there was a hold on the funds and that would have to be removed before they could give you my money that was really sweet. This is my pay payroll and I really need to pay my bills. I would suggest that anybody thinking about going to US Bank stay about as far away from them as they humanly possibly can. My friends have advised many times for me to change my banking, but I was staying here because I’ve been with them for over 27 years with my husband. My husband is now gone so I guess so is US Bank😡
I received a credit card with a limit of $11,000 and 0% interest for six months. After transferring my debt from other cards, I managed to reduce my balance to $500 within five months. However, the very next day, the company drastically cut my credit limit to $600 without any prior notice. This feels quite deceptive, and I wouldn’t trust them. It seems they aim to trap customers into paying high interest, and if you pay off your balance, you're penalized. This experience has been frustrating!
This bank lacks integrity and concern for its customers. Their focus seems to be solely on profit. The customer service representatives were often rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, providing incorrect information that led to unexpected expenses during the holiday season. This level of service is unacceptable!
