Everything was explained in detail to me.My email which had been hacked and identity stolen and used to seek financial assistance from many on my contacts address list, now appears to be operational. I contacted V4 IT Services because they advertise themselves as Fuji Xerox specialists. I gave them the exact model of my Fuji Xerox DocuCentre and explained the issue in detail. I even asked if it was worth sending a technician, and they assured me it was.
They sent out a young technician who was polite, but clearly not qualified to work on copiers. He arrived without the basic tools needed to dismantle the machine. I had to lend him my own tools just so he could open it up.
It quickly became obvious he did not understand the machine. He pointed to the wrong area when describing the power supply location. After about an hour and a half, he admitted he normally works on computers, not copiers. Despite this, he briefly used a multimeter and declared the power supply was faulty and the machine was not worth repairing.
I do not accept that diagnosis. He did not have the correct tools, did not have the right experience, and clearly did not know the internal layout of the machine.
I was then charged $324 for this visit. I paid at the time to avoid embarrassing the technician, but it is unreasonable to be billed full service rates when the company sends someone unqualified and unprepared for the job.
Since then, I have called multiple times to complain. Each time I was told the issue would be escalated and a manager or owner would call me back. No one ever did.
This is not about the technician personally, he was respectful. This is about a company sending the wrong person, providing no real diagnosis, charging anyway, and then ignoring a legitimate complaint.
Based on my experience, I would not trust V4 IT Services with specialised equipment.
UPDATE AFTER COMPANY RESPONSE
It is unfortunate that it took leaving a public review for the company to finally contact me. I had been calling for four days, repeatedly promised that a manager or owner would return my call, and no one did. Only after I posted a negative review did they make contact.
During that phone call, they acknowledged their own policy states that if a machine cannot be repaired within one hour, there should be no further charges. They also acknowledged I had been overcharged by 30 minutes. However, after internal discussions, they reversed their position. I was told they stood by their technician and would not offer any refund, partial refund, reassessment, or send a properly qualified Fuji Xerox specialist.
At no point did I demand a refund or make threats. I was giving them the opportunity to suggest a fair solution. Despite that, the manager accused me of blackmail, which I found extremely unprofessional and inappropriate.
To be completely clear, I do not blame the technician personally. He was polite and tried his best, but he should never have been sent to a specialised copier repair he was not trained or equipped to handle. The responsibility for that decision sits with management.
They appeared more concerned about the impact of the review than about resolving a genuine complaint. I was ultimately told they would “handle the review” and that no further action would be taken.
For accuracy, my business calls are recorded using Dubber, and I have both recordings and transcripts of these conversations. Everything I have written here reflects my experience exactly as it occurred.
This situation could have been resolved professionally. They chose not to.
Initially, the representative was great in organizing everything and connecting me with another team member. The second representative was incredibly patient and supportive. For someone new to computer-related matters, this experience was surprisingly stress-free. Huge thanks!
