Review Time
My selling order got canceled due to timing. I received a notice and was told to contact customer service with questions.
1. The customer service email listed in their email is invalid
2. I filled out a form for customer service and never heard back
3. I called customer service, received a voicemail, and then never heard back
All I want is to see if my items can be requoted rather than cancelled but no one will return my call to help me with that. Their books may be fine, but customer service has avoided me for over a week.
Valore was horrible. I had to return a book and contacted customer service to figure out what I needed to do. Customer service was not honest about the process. They violated their online policy and returning the book cost me twice as much as keeping it would have. I followed all the guidelines for a return and still had to pay additional out of pocket fees. I also emailed customer service after returning the book asking why I wasn't getting the refund the website said I would, and they refused to answer my question.
I have used Valore to sell old textbooks twice. The first time, I was mailed a check for the quoted amount. The second time, without publicizing any change, they removed the check payout option and instead replaced it with a third party vendor who charges fees for ACH/Venmo transfers. To avoid fees, you have to get your money back in the form of a gift card, which is inconvenient and should be much more clearly publicized as a change in policy. I asked for them instead to mail back my books, and they refused to do so. Be warned that in order to get the money they quote you straight into your bank account, you will have to pay a 6% fee. Your only other option is to accept a gift card, which is fine for some customers, but should be made clear given the change in policy.
STAY AWAY!!!I’ve ordered from them three times now and three times my credit card was immediately compromised afterwards and used fraudulently. A quick Google search indicates several other people have had similar experiences. The prices aren’t worth the hassle and lack of data privacy.
