I came on here to make sure there was a real reflection of this company. They did PRISTINE work for my family. We were moving my mother to Florida and it involved a couple stops, packing, and just a lot overall. They took extended time into our reservation which was necessary to get it organized.
They did an excellent job of moving furniture indoor and out, as well as reorganizing my entire garage, moving heavy boxes there as well as up and downstairs. They were friendly and very competent. Would definitely hire again!!
I called to cancel my reservation after receiving a cheaper quote from PODS. I have a recording of the call with salesman Daniel telling me to tape off a space in my garage 8x16, (the size of a POD), and as long as my stuff fit in that space, my quote wouldn’t go up. We hung up the phone with him promising to reword the contract to reflect that. He never sent a new contract and then it was a holiday weekend. When the movers showed up they wanted $1000 extra. I called customer support so many times, they said they said they would listen to the calls to confirm my story, they never did. 3 days later I finally spoke to the salesman (Daniel) and he agreed that’s exactly what he told me, and said he’d fix it and get back to me, (I also have this call recorded). Of course he never called me back. He blocked my number, and now they have all stopped responding to me. Very misleading sales tactics and very poor customer service once the movers show up and take your money. I would NEVER use them again.
I experienced a bait and switch situation. Initially, I was quoted $6500 for a 26ft dedicated truck and full moving service. When I expressed that it was too expensive, the price dropped to $3200 using a shared trailer with a $1600 down payment. However, on the day of the move, they arrived and demanded an additional $11,500 for the same 26ft service.
Bait and switch, told me $6500 originally for a 26ft dedicated truck and movers end to end, then went down to $3200 when I said that was too much using a shared trailer load instead with a $1600 down payment, they showed up day of and demanded $11,500 MORE for the same 26ft of product.
THEIVES!! CON ARTISTS!! LIARS!! Value Added Moving [VAM] LIED, saying they'd take care of us to end of our move! Read on... VAM LIED when I asked for owner operated service in SoCal; they said they own trucks in SoCal; they don't own any trucks. VAM LIED about their process saying a visual inspection would confirm the accuracy of their estimate and then load on another date... VAM took 50% deposit, but 2 days before move, they call saying we need to accommodate them to a move the next day [THANKSGIVING DAY], because they "overbooked" OR we must reschedule for a later 'to be determined date' to load and move; we'd already made arrangements to move into an apartment in another state; we were FORCED to accept their MOVE DATE instead of the one we had contracted with them. We were assigned to contracted M&R Movers, from Texas; Value Added Moving LIED saying M&R was their "Top Tier" and "Primiere" company; M&R has 1 truck and 2 employees, and recently regained their business license after having it suspended. M&R movers showed up to our storage unit hours late and said our cubic feet estimate from Value Added Moving was no good, and added 67% to the cost original cost contracted by Value Added Moving. Again we're forced to pay or we can't be moved. The next day, M&R says our delivery date must be changed and says legally they have up to 30 to deliver. We were given no delivery date of possession, and still have no confirmed date to receive our possessions, though we have an apartment with no bed to sleep in, and no home utensils, or other furniture ot extra clothes. VALUE ADDED MOVING CUSTOMER SERVICE was called and we were rudely treated; they said, 'You have a contract with M&R not us.' They take no care of customers and provide no service. Value Added Moving are theives! They TOOK money in a deposit, them passed us off to another rouge moving company and disavowed themselves of any responsibility to fulfill their original contract. I've documented proof.
Each time I use these guys it’s better than the last. This time, I was able to book a pickup from an estate sale with Pamela immediately and they called to say they could do the job early which worked for me. Three men show up with the freezer and helped with a few other items. Tyrone and his team were professional and polite. They are my go to movers!
We cannot nor will we ever recommend this company. There is no communication. They were over an hour late picking up our items and then charged us an additional $1300 although the inventory matched, the weight was off by half! We have been trying for 9 days in a row to get at least an estimate of when we can expect delivery. No one ever calls back, and we have gotten no results except a lot of different dates that never come to fruition. No communication!
Bait and switch. The worst experience in my life. I'm 70 years old. A single grandma and have been taken in on a scam. Quoted one price, By the time some of my items in the truck half the items not taken and twice the price. Adived them to cancel due to the bad faith and bait and switch, but they refused. I tried to adise them that they were 3 days late on picking up items and I was quoted 1/3 the price. Even though gave an exact total number of items and measuements and was given a price. This is ongoing and has not been settled. Was told I would have my items delivered in 4 days from the date they were to originally pick them up, That was changed to 14. The Owner (he said) of this company called and was verbally abusive While threatening me and using foul language as well as name calling over the phone. He stating that I would not get any of my belongings. He was on speaker phone and many people heard him state that he would steal my items if not paid the balance. "They would be missplaced". He did not care that his company misrepresented themselves, Gave a totally fraudulent estimate, The mover could not communicate (he couldn't speak English), Promise of pick up and delivery date not met, Bait and switch tactics, Items left behind. He just wanted his money. The most unprofessional person I have ever communicated with and believe me that is saying something after 70 years. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. If I could have given 0, I would have. Again, this is an on going nightmare. They are holding all of a 70 year old woman's belongings hostage until I pay the balance of their outrageous final cost. This is extortion and they should not get away with it. I think the only way anyone gave them higher than a one star review was it they were paid to do so or work for the company. If they do work for this company, I can only feel sorry for them. They have work for such a man.
This company is fraudulent and they’ll scam you out of your money. They’re willing to help you, set-up your move, and return your calls, until you leave a deposit, then you’re ignored and lose your deposit. Ryan is a liar and a thief. He quoted me a balance of $190, upon delivery then the movers added $475, refusing to deliver my furniture. They were over an hour late and broke my furniture. Christian the leade mover was upset because he had to use the elevator to deliver to the fourth floor. He then notified me that I had too much furniture, that for $1975 I was only allotted the space of an elevator. Who has an elevator’s worth of furniture for a two bedroom apartment? I only had two queen frames, coffee and end tables, three smart TV’s, a china cabinet, and 12 boxes. Hardly anything to load up. This company takes advantage of people, I’m disabled and shame on them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!
