After some haggling, I finally managed to get a fair refund from Vodien upon terminating their service. Thanks, Sambrin O for following up!I had previously given them a 1-star rating, primarily for their terrible email hosting service. At least they refunded my money, which is good-a good sign of some integrity there.I sincerely hope their management learns from this experience. Putting customers' emails on a non-supported, expired so-called OS-7 operating system and then asking us to pay a whopping over S$9K just to migrate us to a normal operating system (Linux or whatever is out there) is quite a business model I never heard of.Let’s hope they can improve from this point on.
TLDR: Vodien server speed is super slow and it is pratically unusable, such that they lost me as a customer after 16 years.I was with vodien for more than 16 years, but recently the speed is so slow that it takes between 4 sec to 10sec to load a page.I contacted support and they assured me that the server speed is in tip top condition. So I hired someone to optimise my site, and the person said they have done what they can, and it's really server speed issue.So I contacted support again and they again said the same thing that the server speed is great.So i decided to move server.After more than 16 years with Vodien, the inertia to move is so great, but I don't really have a choice since they can't resolve it.And now guess what, my website is fast now!It's crazy how fast my website is now as compared to when I was on Vodien. And that's also after support saying that the server is in great condition.Their service now is unusable, so good luck to them and to future users.
