Called in to Wetherspoons in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire as it was my wife's birthday today 28th March. One young girl behind the bar, a queue of people all jumping the queue and total chaos. Waited for 15 minutes with more people coming up to order with no priority beintg given to people who had been waiting the longest. 2 chaps running around around behind the bar just serving drinks to tables. We left and found an alternative restaurant which turned out to be rather good. We have been using this branch for many years but this has really put us off going again. Not a good experience . Grrrrrrrrrrrr
This is verging close to being the worst meal I have ever had. Usually go to the Brandon works Weatherspoons in Motherwell and never had a bad meal there, however the food here is almost unedible. Family of 4 and everyone's chips were tepid/lukewarm, undercooked as the potato was crunchy on the inside, soggy outside and cold. American cheeseburger - what a poor excuse for a burger. No sauce, a dairy lee cheese slice thrown on top of a dry, cold burger and a massive thick slice of gherkin. Didn't even think to melt the cheeseAll day brunch - the bacon could have been revived with decent CPR. The fried eggs looked and tasted like it had been frying for a fortnight, sausages were cold. The beans were ok. Cheese and Ham Panini - the panini itself was doughy as if someone hadn't baked it. Again a cheese slice - not melted. Honestly the worst meal I can remember having in a long long time. Will never be back.
Lord Wimborne in Poole Dorset. I am a great lover of a cooked English breakfast.Having tried a few establishments over the many years I have lived here.I now, since Christmas, have been frequenting the Lord Wimborne. There seems to have been a world shortage of baked beans recently. Instead of a healthy half ladle full on your plate. You now only get about 20 beans in a bit of sauce. This has been going on for quite a while and it's annoying because it leaves nothing for the toast to mop up😕
We moved to Deal and decided to to try there weather spoons first couple times meals better than other weather spoons but have now gone done , yes they are cheap but had to return meals on 2 ocations on Monday evening 4 off us went in had to return meals 3 of meals as cold the replaced them but not much better will not be eating in a weather spoons again
I know Weatherspoons is one of those Marmite companies. Most of the bad is the personal politics of Tim Martin who for some reason seems he'll bent on destroying the companies reputation and market share. Meanwhile the beer and food, is good, cheap and reliable. He pays his UK taxes and suppliers. If you have some spare time, research some of the other pub chains and see what they do.
Cordwainer Northampton -Avoid! Vile Doorstaff. If it was possible to give a zero rating I would. After frequenting a few times over the Christmas period for some drinks, I've never had such an awful experience. We were served our last drinks of the evening and then approached by the door staff three minutes later and told to drink up and leave. My partner advised that we had 20 minutes to finish our drinks, upon which we were mocked and told to prove it.If it is reasonable to take payment for a final drink, shouldn't it be reasonable to be advised of a time frame in which you should be expected to finish it and not be bullied by doorstaff after three minutes of purchase?I left the building to wait outside and my partner and his friend went to seek advice from the bar over the doorstaff. They were told we were collectively not allowed back, in which one of the doorstaff laughed and me behind the glass doors, waved and mouthed 'bye bye'.This is the second time this has happened, the first being when we were actually sat with someone respectable from McManus Pub Company who had to politely advise the same vile doorstaff that we should have a reasonable time to finish our drinks, or just not take payment for the final drinks at all and be advised the bar had closed. If you have an area manager for this location, I would advise they visit and assess the employment of their doorstaff, who are self obesessed important bullies. We had always avoided this location due to poor reviews but we decided to give it a go anyway. More fool us.It could be lovely with such a diverse mix of customers with whom we had wonderful conversations and laughs. I hope we meet them another time in a friendlier place.
