Some of their products were wonderful but 2 years in a row, I ordered same product that did not produce at all! Nothing. I tried reaching out via phone call (LVM) and email to just see if this was common or if there is anything I could have done differently. But after 2 years in a row trying to reach the company I have yet to ever receive a response. So I would say very poor customer service. I will not be a returning customer at this point.
I cannot plant until May, them posted in early februrary. I kept in orginal bag in basement. I went to start getting ready for planting and they are dried out husks. The red potatoes I got elsewhere were soft and plump and are now temporarly planted with wonderful sprouts. Their "organic" potatoes are mushy, nasty things. I've emails and was told by Frank Allen not our problem. We have a small farm and booth at the Fredericksburg farmers market, we will definitely be passing out copies of his rude emails. People from all over the US comes to our little town.
To begin with it took five phone calls in a weeks period to get a return call. Then when my order came they substitured another potato from what I ordered without ever asking if this was ok, which it was not. They charged me the same amount and what really bites my ass is that I had just spoken to the woman on the phone before my order was sent and she said NOTHING about not having the potatoes I ordered. They just did what they damn well pleased. The reason I had called them in the first place was to ask if their potatoes where non-gmo, which the woman claimed they were. I'll be checking into this and filing a complaint with the argicultural dept if this is not true Would NOT recoment them
I was very disappointed. This year I thought I would go with a family farm type supplier. I ordered my potatoes in December. About the end of December they reached out to me asking when I would like my seed potatoes delivered. This was positive, a personalize approach! Being is Central Texas I requested the middle of January for delivery. Well January came and went with no potatoes. I pretty much gave up and figured I would work the beds to get early summer veggies planted in February. Well about the 3rd week in February the potatoes show up. What the heck am I going to do with these. I live in Texas for goodness sake. Halfway through the growth cycle for the potatoes we will already be in the 90s and potatoes do not do well in heat. I did not give them a 1 star because I really hate giving negative reviews to family run operations.
Potatoes grown from last season kept so well this whole winter. We made great memories my boys and I planting them together before college and digging them up while home on holiday break. Even though I'm a new gardener of 3 years its been a solitary hobby that I enjoy. The potato planting has sparked an huge interest in my young men and we are excited to be placing Our second order today!
