The administration and staff running this program seem more focused on charging extra fees than providing genuine support. If you try to leave, they make the process unnecessarily difficult—it almost feels like a scam. They consistently find ways to squeeze more money out of you. Highly disappointing and frustrating.
I’ve started my Aupair’s process with aupair in America about a year ago and had an amazing experience, they were with me every step of the way until I got to the host family house. I enjoyed the orientation in New York a lot and met amazing people during and at cluster meetings. APIA is a very good agency and is there for you all the way no matter what!
I went through the whole process with them, and I couldn't be happier with the experience – especially thanks to Gaia! She supported me every step of the way, always kind, patient, and ready to help with any doubts or give useful advice. I really felt guided and cared for throughout the entire journey. I highly recommend them to anyone considering an Au Pair experience in the USA!
Choose au pair in America as my au pair agency was the best choice I could have ever made! They answer super fast, they’re always helpful, they have a lot of families, and they care about their au pairs way much more than other agency!
Our experience with Au Pair in America has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. We relied on this agency to provide accurate, reliable guidance—especially when it came to something as significant as international travel with our au pair. We were told directly and clearly, on multiple occasions, that our au pair was cleared to travel with us on a cruise. We booked the trip in good faith, trusting the word of their representative.Only after making travel plans and incurring substantial costs did we find out that this information was incorrect. The agency has since refused to take any accountability, citing technicalities and fine print, and completely dismissing the fact that their own staff gave us verbal confirmation that influenced our decisions. This isn’t just about a mistake—it’s about the complete lack of responsibility and support when that mistake impacted our family’s time, money, and trust. What’s most concerning is the agency’s unwillingness to stand behind the advice their representatives give. If you’re a family considering this program, be warned: you must question everything, document every conversation, and know that even clear verbal confirmation from their staff means nothing if it goes wrong. This has been a painful and expensive lesson. I would urge others to proceed with extreme caution.
My profile was archived and I was told to contact someone for help, which I did. I had all the documents I was still putting together.Only to be told that I can not continue with the application unless I have a host family. I'm from Kenya. It does not make sense because the sole reason for this platform is to match the aupair to the host families.Meanwhile my friends from Kenya are in the site and uploading documents for matching. It's not fair.
This experience has been truly life-changing for me it helped me reach my personal goals, open my mind, and grow on a personal level. On top of that, I had the chance to see so many beautiful things that America has to offer while traveling extensively.I want to give a big shout-out to the agency that made my dream come true. They were always there for me, no matter what I needed. I had a few technical issues during my time there (my fault!), but they never hesitated to help me and guide me through everything.A special thank you goes to Gaia, who always did her very best to assist me and was incredibly supportive and available whenever I needed her.If you’re on the fence about whether to do this experience or not, I highly recommend you go for it and rely on this agency. Their reliability and dedication are truly impressive.
We have had a profoundly disappointing experience with Au-Pair in America and cannot recommend their services. Unfortunately, we encountered numerous lies and a lack of transparency throughout the process. It seems that no thorough investigation is conducted regarding issues that arise, leaving us feeling unheard and unsupported. The staff, in our opinion, display a troubling indifference towards host families. When we raised our concerns to management, it was disheartening to see a clear lack of follow-through on their part. This experience has left us feeling frustrated and disillusioned. We encourage potential host families to carefully consider their options before engaging with this agency.
