I had them set up for delivery

I had them set up for delivery. They saw that I had a portable tank hooked up to my house line separate from the tank they were supposed to fill. I told them just to fill my tank or I can unhook it the portable later. They left and said it was unsafe and could come unhook the portable for $150 and wont fill the main tank until then. I said I would take care of it and not to worry about it. They said I would need a company letter head from a gas company to do it. Obsoletely ridiculous and customer service is horrible. Beware of this company!!!

A sad end to a 20+ year relationship

For over 21 years, I’ve maintained a lease with Ferrell Gas at a summer cabin that is visited by the family only 2-3 times per year. When we purchased the place in 2004, I continued the service at the recommendation of the previous owner. No issues whatsoever. I paid the yearly lease fee that varied erratically from as low as $27 or so to over $75 a year, the latter rate being more consistent since about 2011. Somebody must have updated the books to find how reasonable my rate was under the circumstances! Understandable. Regardless, I didn’t care. It was nominal. No problem. The tank was rarely filled with many years between fills. The frequency and duration of our visits to the cabin dictated that. Never had any issues with the tank itself. At no time was I ever informed that this steady relationship would become an issue. Until now. Suddenly, I’ve been informed that the yearly lease fee will increase by 100% to $150.00 a year due to my “minimal use,” apparently a designation by Ferrell Gas if one falls below at least two fills per year. Definitely news to me! Why the sudden change after over 20 years? I contacted Ferrell Gas immediately to explain the longstanding nature of the account that heretofore was not a problem. I spoke with an exceptionally pleasant and helpful representative, Debra H. She was great! Unfortunately, the ‘manager’ she engaged on the matter could offer only a temporary continuation of the $75 per year lease fee for this year that would double as originally intended in years thereafter unless my use increased. Wow! That’s just not possible for my family. Was there the possibility for a reasonable compromise for such a loyal and longstanding account? No. Sad.Instead, I’m left with no alternative but to try to use the remaining propane in the tank this year before the end of the final lease period when the tank will be removed. To add insult to injury, I won’t be reimbursed for any remaining propane left in the tank either. So, sadly, a long-term relationship ends. A relationship in which at least a small but consistent revenue stream was coming to Ferrell Gas. Soon there will be none. Does that make business sense? Isn’t something preferable to nothing? Obviously not. Of course I’m sure there is some ‘corporate’ rationale, but from a simple customer perspective, it’s perplexing. Well, on to another provider. Thank goodness for the free enterprise system we enjoy as Americans. Goodbye Ferrell Gas. It was just fine while it lasted. For the record, you left me.

Outstanding service…

I find it very hard to believe this low rating. This company hands down has GREAT costumer service. They have gone above and beyond to meet my needs. Very polite and helpful. Again under a rating of 4 stars , can Not be correct. I understand a five star is a very rare rating, but will never understand a rating of less then 4 stars. My local office is Montgomery Missouri and they have OUTSTANDING service and work ethics. 5 STAR ALL THE WAY.👍👍😉

They are the most expensive propane gas…

They are the most expensive propane gas supplier. Called around to price out - while Ferrellgas charges close to $5.00 per gallon - other companies charge about $3.29- $3.46.Also Ferrellgas is not dependable- we waited for 3 weeks for delivery- after they said " expedite " we only had 4% in tank in November. Horrible company!

This company is absolutely terrible …

The only reason why I gave this company one star is because it wouldn’t let me give a review without giving at least one star. I’ve never dealt with such a horrible company. I’ve had trouble either them from day one , which should’ve been a red flag but I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. 1) when they came to set my tank the guy that was setting the tank was absolutely rude. You could tell he definitely didn’t want to be there working. 2) they kept delaying trenching my line and wouldn’t give me a valid reason why. It was in the spring so being cold was not the issue. 3) I was told when I signed up to place an order in the winter when we had 30%. So I did just that in December 2023. That delivery took a week and a half to be delivered. I then need gas again in February 2024. I ordered gas when I had 30% again. It said I’d have my delivery on or before two weeks out. I waited and waited for an update. Two days before the last day to be delivered (by this point I had 6% left) I get an email that there would be a delay in our delivery and they couldn’t get us a date. I freaked out . I called customer service. One they were super hard to get ahold of, then when I finally got ahold of someone. They were absolutely horrible. They didn’t care, and they could not give me any answers. I had a business card of a supervisor from when I complained when I was having such a hard time to be trenched. I called him in desperation because my kids were going to be in the cold. He was able to out me on a route and I got a fill before we ran out.4) this year February 2025 the same exact scenario happened. I called every day until I was less than 2% and finally I got a delivery but again I had to call my inside contact to get a delivery. I found out that there was a truck within 5 miles of my house and we were not on the route. I wasn’t going to get any propane delivered even on or before the date that was given. I am going to change propane companies. I will tell everyone that will listen to never use this company for their propane needs. I will put a bad review on every forum . They are absolutely terrible!

horrible customer service very late deliveries

Ordered gas for my elderly mother around 1/10/25 they gave an estimate of Jan 29th. When we called back the following monday they said it would be much sooner that was just an estimate date the website gives you.Well here we are 1-27-25 my mother has 0 propane. Called ferrell took over 20 minutes just to get a rep on the phone and her attitude was sorry not sorry, it is what it is. She went on to scold us about how it's our fault for not doing autofill and being a will call. She basically stated auto fill takes priority over anyone else who orders no matter when they order. Also stated she couldn't even see when an exact delivery date would be because it's not an auto fill account. She went on to preach up the benefits of autofill. Then she said she can see my moms tank has nothing in it. Well if you all can see that why wasn't a truck sent previous days if you can see it is so low? So I asked if I can hook up a 100lb tank for a night or two, they said they can not advise that and if I did and the delivery guy sees it he can refuse to fill because he isn't a tech, and my mother would have to wait longer and they will send a tech out with in 2 weeks and then after they come with in a week after that she can have her tank filled. as well will be charged over $300 for the tech crew to come out and pressure check her house.

I first hired Ferrelgas in the fall of…

I first hired Ferrelgas in the fall of 2024 to supply propane to heat my home. I asked for 2 120 gallon tanks to be set. They refused and only set one tank. The first delivery was fine. I ran out of propane in 15 days. I called in for a delivery. They came 10 days after I ran out in December. 10 days after the delivery I asked for another delivery. I got a message 15 days later saying that the driver couldn't get in my flat plowed driveway at 8pm on a Saturday so they canceled my delivery. I checked my security cameras at the end of my driveway that cover my driveway, Rt 21 and German Hollow Rd. There was no sign of any propane truck here or even on the roads that night. I ran out of propane/heat again. I called them on Monday as the office was closed on the weekend. I was met with hostility by the agent so I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor called me back and said that no one told her or documented that there was a delivery attempt at my house at all. She said the driver just cancelled the delivery. 10 days later, I finally get a delivery. 5 days later, I asked for another delivery knowing it would run out of propane again. I also contacted HEAP to have that applied to my account. 10 days later, they canceled my delivery because the cash from the HEAP was not there even though the letter from HEAP was there. They refused to deliver. I called my local DSS and spoke to the HEAP worker. I also sent an email to the supervisor of Ferrelgas about this issue. I got an apology from the supervisor saying the agent was wrong. 10 days after that and being out of heat, they delivered the propane. 3 days after that, I placed another order. 10 days after that is today and I'm out of propane and I got an email saying the driver was here today and couldn't deliver because my driveway wasn't plowed. I checked my cameras again and no big blue propane truck was here today. I did see UPS and FedX drive in my driveway to make delivery's for me. I asked the FedX driver if he had any issues getting in my driveway. He said it was fine. I sent an email to Ferrellgas and they replied that the delivery is set for 3/10/2025. And I am out of heat again! Also, because I ran out of propane 3 times, I had to run my electric heaters in order to stay warm. That ran up my electric bills to just under $1500. My bill would normally be around $70 a month at most. Turns out that this is typical for this company in Earlville NY

Shameful service

We requested a top off of our gas on Jan 6, 2025. It is now January 16 and there has been no response. They also lie and told my husband on several occasions that gas was out for delivery. My husband called every day to follow up. I really don't know how this company stays in business as the reviews are unanimously horrible. We will locate another company with strong reviews. In my entire lifetime, this is the worse company I have ever worked with.

Very late deliveries.

Two years in a row Ferrellgas has allowed us to run out of gas after following procedures and ordering at least two weeks (01/08/2024) in advance. While delivery was delayed two times and definite delivery time was provided on 01/23, it didn't arrive. On 01/24, the out for delivery message was gone. We are now out of gas for heat and HW. The do not provide contacts for real people and show 2 day responses to predetermined problems not covered by the actual problem. All this and they require payment in advance. I suggest finding another company. We will.

Good Service until this order

We have been FerrellGas customers in Central NY for 7 years. Up until this last order we have not had too many complaints. We have ordered and had our delivery in less than 5 days. However, that all changed with this last order. We placed an order on December 17th and have been waiting for propane since. It is now January 6th, 2025. I called on the 3rd of January to let them know that we were now out of propane and was told that they tried to deliver on the 21st of December the day of a snowstorm and could not deliver because our driveway was not clear. I have multiple cameras that capture 360 degrees around our house and checked the three that capture the roadway in front of our house from December 17th through January 3rd. There was no evidence that their truck ever pulled up to our property. Also the 21st was a Saturday when they don't typically work, so we are having a hard time believing that they attempted to deliver. My wife drives a small Mazda car and was in and out of our driveway multiple times over that weekend with no problem. We probably had less than 4 inches of snow in total and our driveway is reasonably flat. Having driven a dump truck with tandem trailers behind it in Utah, in similar climate and weather conditions, I don't believe a large truck would have had any trouble. Also, in the past, on several occasions, they have not even pulled into our driveway they parked on the side of the road and took the shortest route to the tank to fill. After two calls on the 3rd of January, two other customer support forms completed online, and two additional calls today, we have had customer support people who have basically said there wasn't much they can do for us, but see we have a delivery scheduled for between Friday, the 3rd and the 15th of January. This is because they canceled our first order apparently after the one alleged attempt to deliver and Friday when I spoke to them, and they created a new order on that day.For the past four days we have been stuck in a house that is hovering between 48-50 degrees, only because we have a few electric heaters running, and occasionally turning on our oven with the door open, that won't keep up with the single digit to weather in the teens outside. On top of all of this two days after they supposedly showed up the weather was 53 degrees and the snow had all been melted by that afternoon by rain. They require I provide my email and phone number when I order the propane, but for what reason I don't know.I was never notified of an attempt to deliver, to schedule a follow-up delivery, etc. No note was left on our door or our mailbox, nothing. I'm not sure if they could have done any less to try to get us a delivery. So here we sit freezing in our home at the mercy of a company that quite simply could not care less. Bad form FerrellGas. We always thought you were doing a good job, but now see why there is a one-star rating from most people who have reviewed this company. Many have said they only gave one star as that is their only option. Many, it seems would have preferred to give negative stars.Update 01/07 more multiple calls placed yesterday and today. My wife demanded to speak with a manager/supervisor. We were told yesterday they would call back in a half hour. No calls ever received. We called again in the afternoon and no one has called us back. The customer service lady just keeps saying we're doing all we can. Today she said, "I see you are scheduled for a delivery on the 9th." That is two days from now. Last night it was 9 degrees (-2 with windchill). I woke up to a 45 degree house. Kept at that temperature only by 3 electric heaters that cannot keep up with the freezing temperatures we are getting. The lack of concern or urgency by this company to get propane to our house to keep us from freezing is inconceivable! Guess what it only took a few hours for them to pull out the money from our bank to pre-pay for the propane. That seems to have been the only thing that was urgent for them in this whole transaction.Update 01/09: On the 7th we were told we'd have propane on the 9th. When I woke up our living room was 30 degrees. Ice was building up in our sinks where I had water dribbling to keep from freezing. We called to confirm that we would get propane that day. We were told we were now scheduled for Monday, the 13th. I did melt down and let them know exactly what I thought of that. In the mean time for a couple of days before that my landlord and the head of our co-op called multiple times and were basically dismissed out of hand. We reached out to a friend who is a family law attorney. He got hung up on the first attempt, the second attempt he was able to talk to a manager, but that call was "cut off". The manager then called him back and I'm not sure what he said or did but within a couple of hours there was a propane truck at our house filling our tank. So it took an attny.
