Review Time
I was referred to Journey Clinical in order to do psychedelic-assisted therapy. My experience involved getting dozens of auto-generated emails and surveys that made me feel like I was buying a mattress, not engaging in a healing journey. When I sent an email expressing dissatisfaction, however, it took a full week and three separate messages to get a response. The practitioner I was paired with was late to one session and cancelled another after I had spent the full day preparing (fasting, abstaining from caffeine, etc). She didn't respond to calls or emails from my existing therapist who reached out to her to share information. When I expressed my concerns about this pattern, she hung up on me. None of the individual instances were terrible (actually, that last one was), but it felt like death by a thousand cuts -- not what you want if you're looking for support to pull out of a depression.
When I tried to schedule my intake appt, there was no availability for about a month. I was very disappointed because I was ready to get started. I reached out about an earlier appt, and I received communication almost daily that they were trying to find an earlier appt. Fortunately, I got an appt within two weeks. I saw Dr. Oppong virtually and was very impressed with the thorough, hour-long assessment. He was unbelievably personable and compassionate and came across like both a therapist and a psychiatrist. I look forward to my follow-up meetings with him.
I am STILL waiting on my prescription to be filled and not only have I already paid for it, I can't get anyone on the phone to provide any explanation as to why my medication hasn't been sent to me. You have to pay for your visits and medication up front but there's clearly no guarantee that you will ever receive what you pay for. This place feels like a scam and highly advise against using them for KAP therapy.
